Spurs (A) | EFL Cup | Post Match Thread

Enjoyed that a lot more when a few of the kids got on, we’ve clearly got some talented ones so why not utilise them every now and then

All the youngsters did well, just a shame Pep won’t trust them with meaningful minutes in the league.
I wouldn't either. Only Wright looked really good truthfully. O'Reilly was in no man's land the entire first half and Mcatee was completely invisible aside from a few nice turns. A better team would've battered us in the 1st half. If Simpson-Pusey had played longer I'd trust him more.

Did better than I thought

Injuries can fuck right off

McAtee is not going to do anything here in my opinion

On to the league again

Enjoyed watching the kids but wish we didn't put as many senior players on who are now injured. Bit weird who got a game and who ended up playing.

not bothered by the result

kids looked good and Oreilly has the confidence and physicality to be part of this team

however the game also showed that the Gundo re signing was all a bit driven by his past acievements. that year at barca did him no good and he is past it......we look much better without him and if we weent down the the bare bones he shouldnt be anywhere near the pitch.

Injuries were the one thing we wanted to avoid but sadly have been hampered further.

Overall a mixed night. Nunes looking the part, Wright superb, Simpson-Pusey with a solid debut. I thought McAtee needed to do a bit more to get involved in the game. He makes a lot of excellent runs but needs to try and get on the ball and make things happen more. O'Reilly was poor again in my opinion. Sloppy in possession but kept working hard off the ball.

Gundo was pretty shocking. Some of the class of old is there but he is miles off it form wise at the moment and feel like it should have returned by now. Kovacic in comparison was absolutely superb.

Enjoyed watching the youngsters tonight, up front they could have maybe taken some better decisions but you can see they were all used to the system. We have too many games this year to worry about the Carabao cup but i'm sure Pep will be please with all the youngsters performances. Simpson-Pusey at back looks a good prospect, not afraid to go past a player and apart from a few stray long range passes didn't look out of place.

Why oh why do we gift goals to the opposition?

Nearly every goal we concede this season the opposition don't have to work for it.

It's a joke.

Gutted about the injuries but not bothered about the defeat. Thought we played quite well in the circumstances, and some of the kids showed real promise. Got to somehow get through these next three games with a threadbare squad, and hopefully get some players back after the international break.

The next few weeks are going to make or break our season. If those injuries tonight are relatively serious ones we are genuinely fucked.
