My company uses a high percentage of foreign labour, and if we didnt there wouldn't be a company.

We pay above minimum wage, there are plenty of opportunities for progression, it's tough work and we couldn't get enough Brits to fill all the jobs if we tried.

People have an opinion of foreign labour that doesn't match up with reality.
You are paying above the standard wage and have vacancies. Then controlled immigration would work for your company.
Sometimes it just location or seasonal problems. Not enough local workers to fill the jobs.
You apply to have foreign workers to fill those gaps. It's win win then.

I'm just not having British youth are "all" lazy fuckers. It a common misconception spread by people with "interests".
Having said that the Tik Tok generation has a lot to answer for!

Really. He's shit all over pensioners, farmers and private enterprise. He works for his clientele . I'm not sure we'll survive the next 5 years. His government is already resembling the shambles that was the Wilson Callaghan government in the 70s.

An excellent example of why we should beware of believing that our electorate is better informed than the US electorate.

We have vacancies all year round.

Foreign workers here legally don't need to be controlled.

Not sure what you're on about with British youth and "interests". Don't think I've said anything about British youth.

I think it's time to stop showing a graphic of GDP growth as if it's some sort of counter-argument to the experience of real people who feel they have been treated badly financially for the last few years, if not decades. It hasn't worked in practice apparently and it certainly isn't going to work on here now.

This is so true. One of the Left Wing youtube presenters was in Michigan going in the Grocery stores with a family who explained, "Just look at these prices"

Exactly the point I was making above about elections always being about the economy - or more accurately, the perception of the economy.

If you’re an everyday working Joe, someone showing you a graph pointing upwards isn’t going to make you feel better off if the price of bread and fuel has doubled in the last couple of years while wages have stagnated. You are going to feel tangibly poorer, and give the incumbent government a kicking at the next election.

It’s how these things have always worked since the dawn of democracy and there’s nothing special about this election.

I’ll say it again as I’ve been saying for years, campaigning on the culture war stuff is just noise for the press. People vote with their wallets. Always. Every focus group and poll said people felt better off under Trump. That’s all that matters, rightly or wrongly.

It's just a talk-tough tactic. He knows it isn't true.
I'm not sure. Maybe he does, maybe he doesnt.

But he must have said it at least a dozen times, so whether he believed it or not it's pretty shit.

I think too much of what Trump said has been excused as "tough talk" or "Trump being Trump".
