Somebody should publish an inventory of games in chronological order, ideally sometime before the start of the season to assist the clubs in planning their financial commitments, travel plans and fan engagement. With modern technology, it would even be possible to make this “fixture list” available through electronic means, thus negating the need to print and send the information through the post.

Could their problem be that they have become accustomed to living beyond their means ?
They have had so many loans/grants off the City Council that this has perhaps made them think that someone/something will always "pay the bills" ?
Their wages are very high for a club in that league and at the bottom of the table, as well.
I know they had an away game cancelled at Blyth, due to home team becoming a community owned club.
Perhaps they have also had away cup ties ?
But, the money they have had thrown at them is ridiculous.
Yet the media stupidly think they are some sort of "underdog, rags to riches success story"...
 
There's a few things really on this topic that need deconstructing. Firstly, not sure why there's a topic about a non-league club. No idea why that would be a concern.There doesn't appear to be the same topics for Abbey Hey, Stalybridge, Hyde etc.

FC United never wanted to be based in Moston, or at Broadhurst Park. The club wanted to be based on Ten Acres Lane in Newton Heath. Planning permission was applied for, and there was an objection, from Manchester City Football Club, which led to the Broadhurst Park site being used. As a result of this objection, there ended up being a shortfall of around £1.4m that was unaccounted for - ultimately the council then footed the bill for this. FC United clearly haven't paid this back in full. From the figures people have kindly collected from freedom of information it would appear that FC United appear to have paid off around £400k-£500k over around a 10 year period. £40k-£50k a year or around £3.5k-£4.5k a month, possibly more considering interest. Suppose the irony of the situation is that all the things that people want to complain about - rinsing the council, being based in Moston etc - never would have happened if it wasn't for Manchester City Football Club, so when you trace it back with a bit of due dilligence that who is ultimtely to blame.

That Ten Acres Lane site that was original proposed is....still a piece of wasteland. So suppose again that can be attributed to Manchester City Football Club. On the face of it, it looks like Manchester City Council are actually in the pockets of the rich, not the poor, and are serving the interests of the rich foreign investor rather than the local Mancunian man. That's the price you pay for success though eh.

All FC United is is a bunch of fans who became disillusioned with the club they supported and top flight football. There's the argument that gets thrown about such as "Why not support another local non-league club". Why? Well why would you if you feel as if you have no affiliation to that club. Suppose fans could have gone to someone like Hyde United, but then they sold out and got bought by....you guessed it, Manchester City Football Club. Have to wonder how Hyde fans felt when that happened.

Should also be noted their playing budget is in the bottom 30% in their league. The council manage this and have a say in it, so ir removes the chance of any big budget spending.

Correct there are not similar threads on here about Hyde, Abbey Hey and Stalybridge etc for the simple reasons such as they are long established clubs with their own identity (one of the few things you got right here was City were out of order attempting to change Hyde United’s identity and thankfully that didn’t last long), City fans are welcome to attend games and to my knowledge they haven’t been permanently reliant on the council / tax payers to bail them out, whilst self proclaiming to be a fan run club.

You maybe right about City’s objections to the TAL site but that’s for the club to comment on, not us fans.
Can I ask, as I don’t know, what is the relationship like with Moston Juniors these days? What did they get all these years on for having the stadium forced upon them? The club was told to accept the project or lose the £750k.

Can I ask, as a self styled “community club’ why do you purposely alienate half of the community by being openly hostile to City? Why do you sing songs about City rather than songs about Hyde, Stalybridge and Abbey Hey?
Why did you set up a United tribute club rather than have a club that forged its own identity that could appeal to the whole community? Again a reason why your club attracts attention on here and a reason why many want to see the project fail.

Can I ask for a figure, a rough estimate as to how much you have put into this club via bucket shaking, suggested donations and community shares? Will members who put in £1000’s and lost them in the community shares ever get their money back? Where did the money go?

Finally, if you had the chance to go back to the start of the club again, knowing what you do now, what would you do differently?

City BOUGHT Hyde United?! When did that happen?
 
Going back to a few points again here. The "established club" argument is a bit of a weird one. Every club has a start. You can tell me if you have the same hatred towards Curzon Ashton. Were they needed in a town like Ashton that had long standing established clubs near them like Ashton Utd, Stalybridge Celtic and Mossley. A club that has relied massively on funding from Tameside Council, an area that's a lot more deprived than Manchester City Council. I mean we need to at least be consistent with the outrage.

The Ten Acres Lane issue is relevant. 10 years ago it was wasteland, today it's still wasteland. So it's not like that land was ear marked for anything else by developers or the council. So putting it there would have benefited the community better than the Broadhurst Park site. But that was a Manchester City Council decision based on pressure applied by Manchester City Football Club.

The relationship with Moston Juniors is being repaired, it's not perfect. There's local players who were there who've gone on to join the academy. You are right though in what you've said previously about the Academy, it is an education first centre, where people go to get a BTEC and play football. This isn't a novel idea that FC Utd capitalise on. Pretty much every non-league team, and some EFL teams offer the exact same programme. Halifax, Hyde, Oldham Athletic, Marine, Bradford Park Avenue, even Stockport County are just a few that do the same programme working with an external education company.

The club isn't hostile to City really. There is the odd song here and there that might reference City but the vast majoirty of the songs that are sung are about the club, and owning the club. There's probably as many anti-City songs that get sung on a matchday as there are at Oldham, Rochdale or Bury. The fanbase is changing as well, younger fans coming in who have never cared about Premier League football or City. The same question that is being asked about our identity could surely be asked about clubs like Maine Road couldn't they, or AFC Liverpool? Is there an issue with AFC Liverpool?

People donate what they can in different ways, some donate monthly on a direct debit, soome donate as and when they can. Does it matter what you get in return? If I watch City or United or West Ham and paid £600-700 a year for the last 20 years on a season ticket i'd have spent £12,000 -£14,000 of my own money, that's excluding travel etc. Have I got anything tangible for that? I'd have a load of memories, that's it, but I'm guessing nobody on here regrets spending £1000-2000 to go to Istanbul to watch a bunch of strangers who don't know you exist win the Champions League. The fans have a choice if they choose to donate. As it stands enough want to. Will that be the case in 20 years? Who knows, but 20 years ago most said the club would be gone by Christmas 2005, so chances are it will.

The relationship with Barrow will also help the club going forward. They've been struggling to find a purpose built football facility to train at and they know there's not many about. Salford City for example still haven't managed to sort one around Greater Manchester. That relationship with Barrow should also help the local community further as well.

If anything could be changed, maybe the club could have ground shared for longer. But that always comes with issues eventually.

Just to correct you about Hyde (United)
They were formed in 1887 as Hyde FC. Due to the Great War they folded. After the war two teams joined together and became Hyde United.
Manchester City started playing reserve games at their ground around 2000.
I believe around 2010 the two clubs formed a partnership. City paid Hyde United a considerable sum of money to use the facilities. This was welcomed by Hyde who, like most clubs not funded by Manchester City Council, were cash strapped.
(We also relaid the pitch and put new seats in)
Part of the agreement was that they reverted to their original name. Hyde.
Bearing in mind that prior to all this, we had already done a bucket collection at the Etihad and raised £8,000, that plus the partnership meant Hyde (United) could wipe out £250,000 of debts ensuring their survival, losing the name United is hardly a big issue.

I have put all this to enlighten you, I could not be arsed replying to the new liar that is posting on here.
