I Know It’s Over

I like the optimism, but we could well be 9 to 11 points behind the dippers after the game against them in early December which I fear will be too much to claw back.

Really can't see us beating spurs and them given the performances of the last two months and how easy we are to play through at the moment, we're shipping goals for fun and there's no pragmatism defensively. If not for Ederson we could have been on the wrong end of some truly humiliating scoreline defeats in the last week.

The Liverpool game is 3 weeks away. By then we could have a fully fit KDB, Walker, Stones, Dias, Ake. A rested & inform Foden, Bernardo, Gundo & Haaland.

The team has been playing players unfit & off form through desperation & have still been dominating with the major issue being finishing. Put teams away & it’s a different ball game.

It’s always the same this time of year. Last year the club World Cup came at the right time, the year before the World Cup. There is still 81 points to play for. Don’t think about the gap, it’s just about accumulating points cos the Dippers will drop points,

We don’t have a cat in hells chance of winning that, and the way things are going we will not even be in that shit show next season.
Next season and trying to get top 4 is our priority now, unless this team produce another miracle again.

Time to see how could the younger ones are, are they capable of holding squad places next season, now is the time for change and refresh.

If we can use this international break to regroup I think we'll be okay. Although, any players returning from injury should not be allowed to go. They need to think about City and fuck it off.
100% this, these players have done us all proud but the club has also rewarded them beyond their dreams and given them everything they and their families could ever want.

Time for them to repay that and put their club first.

I will be eternally grateful to pep and the boys for giving us all these trophy’s over the years trophy’s I’d never thought I’d see.
Been supporting this team since the 60s
And will continue to back the lads no matter what shite is thrown at us but we have to be realistic. kdb walker and possibly bernie are
Understandably No longer the players they were and with our ridiculous injury list we’ve no chance of winning the league this season.
Poor recruitment or lack of it has bitten us hard but no team gets it right everytime
Look at the shite the rags have bought over the years.
We really need pep to make his mind up because I think this will give the boys a huge lift that they desperately need.
Kev has been poor for quite a while now and I think he knows it and I think he will be off in the summer. Watching walker walk back from brightons half while mitoma honed in on goal signalled the end for him aswell
There are stories all over the pitch which we all can see, thankfully we are only 10 games in so still plenty of time to correct the wrongs but for me the league has gone
Top 4 should be the only target we prioritise
From now on.
we need a backup striker and a right back in January at the very least.
Fuck the cartel fuck the media and up the fucking blues.

We've lost, no excuses, no whining, it's done, let's move on. Let's not become like those entitled cunts from Dipperland, Tarquinville and the swamp who believe that titles should be handed to them by right because of their "history and status". Let's fucking earn it and be thankful for the last decade yet always remember the dark times. Those times could easily return. But unlike those entitled cunts mentioned previously. we've been there, witnessed and lived through those desperate times. We are not afraid of ever going through those times again. The ones who are most afraid of that are the entitled ones who have never been close to those depths. That is what they fear most of all.

I have always said that last seasons premiership title was Pep’s biggest achievement considering it was the season after the treble plus we had an ageing squad, injury to KDB, loss of Gundo, no Rodri back up etc etc.

The truth is that there isn’t just one reason for the decline:

Poor recruitment going back 2 seasons.

An ageing squad - Especially in Midfield.

Injuries.

Uncertainty over Pep’s future.

Fodens form has dropped off a cliff.

The constant speculation of the 115 charges
and possible penalties (without doubt the press have an agenda)

We can’t win the league every year but we now need to ensure that we are are in a stronger position for next season.

Pep needs to make his mind up either way and if he’s staying it needs to be for more than one season.

There is no room for sentiment….one thing Fergie got right was that he constantly refreshed the team….(until his final season) and no player was bigger than the team…and that should include the manager.

Watching this current City team, the work ethic has has declined, we no longer press, especially in the 2nd half….is this due to an ageing team, fitness/injuries or tactics.

Gundo (I was glad to see him return) Walker, Stones (he’s never fit) and KDB need to be replaced plus there are question marks over Grealish (injuries not ability) and even Bernardo.

We have some very good youngsters coming through however those players should have been been bedded in in a winning City team….there were plenty of opportunities last season where the games were won with 30 minutes to go- one of the few criticisms I have of Pep.

We have enjoyed times like never before…an annual trip to Wembley was guaranteed but there’s no doubt we have let some of the chasing pack close the gap and some of that is definitely due to complacency.

I absolutely trust our hierarchy to get it right….Watch us go once the 115 allegations are not proven and the uncertainty over Pep is sorted either way.

The future is still blue.

For me this year now is all about finishing top 4 and winning the fa cup. We need fresh blood in midfield and we need to spend to get players who are capable of starting. No more nunes, Philips, kovacic type signings. We need genuine world class talent in midfield

With respect even if we do have all the above fit for that game our record at Anfield Is shocking, 2 wins in 21 years. Even when we've been there with us bang in form and the dippers bang out of form we've managed to lose in recent seasons.

I don't agree our major issue is finishing, we shouldn't have to be scoring 3+ goals a game to have a chance of winning especially the way teams defend against us with 11 behind the ball. How many vital 1-0 results have we had across the years?

Our main issue is how many goals we are conceding and how easy it is for opposition to play through us. Teams have found a blueprint on how to play against us - we are conceding the same goals week after week.

Hope you're right. We've had one trophyless season since the bald frau Pep arrived; his first one.

Reading the runes - it's almost like an overseen decline - alright, exacerbated and highlighted by the injury crisis.
I wonder if the rebuild is for when the 115 is finally sorted out and to coincide with the new look ground in 2 seasons time?
For "the best run club in football", the current situation looks too much like a fiasco to be anything other than deliberate/alloted for.

It's been an absolutely brilliant 15 years. To expect that to continue at that level of success, brilliance and bucket list moments is not realistic. We are a well run club and what we need to do is make that any dips on the rollercoaster are not that severe and that we remain competitive for trophies.
Exactly! when I was very much younger I use to look at our trophy haul and think why haven't we won more during our history? now we have a period which has enhanced our standing as a trophy winning club. For f**k sake Villa fans have been living off winning the European Cup in 1982, Newcastle's last domestic trophy was in 1955, Spuds lol and even the rags & dippers went multiple years without winning the title. I expect Pep will be in Abu Dhabi this week then maybe things may become clearer about his contract situation next week.

Just gonna keep bumping these. They're great reading.

It's a laugh reading these. Could cut and paste them and apply them to the Brighton game today. Funny.

Could just as easily cut and paste some of the repetitive crap you’ve posted as well….you’re one of the worst on here trying to be Billy Biggest Blue. What is it with so many on here? Quoting fellow blues, some of the quotes being pretty valid comments, and trying to make a fool of them?
