Still playing like an inexperienced kid

No consistency, blows hot and cold, and should be one of the more experienced players taking the game by the scruff of the neck during this tough spell

Let's at least compare his record this season against his record at the same stage last season.

By November 9th, 2023, in the Premier League, Foden had played 11 games (9 starts, 833 minutes). 3 goals, 3 assists.
As of November 9th, 2024, in the Premier League, Foden has played 8 games (4 starts, 461 minutes). 0 goals, 1 assist.

So he's played about half the football he'd played at the same stage last season. Let's see where he is after another 461 minutes, eh?

It's like some blues aren't watching with their eyes... Can and should he be better? Sure. Was he really good versus Bourenemouth and his brilliant self versus Sporting? Yes.

Brighton did a great job of not allowing our defence and Kova/Lewis of playing him the ball and forcing everything out wide. When he did get it, he made great decisions with the ball.

Perhaps fans online should stop being so adament that he's selfish, and should pass the ball to Haaland more, when his best atribute as a player is SCORING THE BALL. Let him be "selfish". We need more goalscorers in this squad as it is.

He was flying in May, we received reports how good he was during training before Euro2024 started and then those jealous bustards somehow cracked him.

This happens not the first time. If you remember 20/21 season, Phil was our main attacker and after Euro2020 he couldn't play well. Same happened after World Cup 2022..

After National team tournaments, he needs 3-4 months to find himself again and regain form.

What's happening in England camp ?

Was imposing his personality on the game towards the tale end of last season.

Seems to be only 80% fit. Has another gear. He is the one that needs to step up the most this season. I reckon December we will only see the true Phil. I think that virus must have really taken it out of him.

Glimpses here and there but is fading after 60 mins.

We need you Phil.

Couldn’t see this happening at all,but what the fuck has happened to the best player in the league last year!?Chalk and cheese apart!..Quite worrying..

Where are you Phillip? Where is the City fan living the dream on the pitch, last night we needed you but you were often happy to go through the motions.

Get your act together fella.

He was ok yesterday, though I do think he stepped back a bit once the subs were made, not his fault as berny and kev just went straight to where he was playing effectively.

overall he had a decent enough game, but we need more goals from him if he is playing that role.especially while we are shakey at the back.

He's being pushed into positions where he can't produce numbers. It's partially good work by the opposing team and us missing Rodri and needing him to work deeper.

We really need to get him into that bang position just outside the area more but it's all too tight in there for us and teams are closing that space far more than they were last year.

There was a moment in the second half when we went 2-1 down and he went on a run and skipped past 3 or 4 players and drove to the box.

We all know he's capable of this but it's become rare to see.
