47 | Phil Foden - 2024/25

Still playing like an inexperienced kid

No consistency, blows hot and cold, and should be one of the more experienced players taking the game by the scruff of the neck during this tough spell

Let's at least compare his record this season against his record at the same stage last season.

By November 9th, 2023, in the Premier League, Foden had played 11 games (9 starts, 833 minutes). 3 goals, 3 assists.
As of November 9th, 2024, in the Premier League, Foden has played 8 games (4 starts, 461 minutes). 0 goals, 1 assist.

So he's played about half the football he'd played at the same stage last season. Let's see where he is after another 461 minutes, eh?

It's like some blues aren't watching with their eyes... Can and should he be better? Sure. Was he really good versus Bourenemouth and his brilliant self versus Sporting? Yes.

Brighton did a great job of not allowing our defence and Kova/Lewis of playing him the ball and forcing everything out wide. When he did get it, he made great decisions with the ball.

Perhaps fans online should stop being so adament that he's selfish, and should pass the ball to Haaland more, when his best atribute as a player is SCORING THE BALL. Let him be "selfish". We need more goalscorers in this squad as it is.
