PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I think it's safe to say those that heard this case was a total sham even before the case started (complete waste of time basically a rehash of the uefa witch hunt) certainly wasn't from the equivalent of a bloke in pub, that clown was going on about . . .
Are you still confident then Matt? I’ve been back and forth with it for so long.
I think we’ll be okay but the natural old school City pessimist in me occasionally creeps in! Ultimately I have faith in Khaldoon and co. though.

For what it's worth, Eric, I think and have always thought 100% we're gonna dry bum these bastards!
But as you all probably know already I'm a know nothing **** so...yeah.

Just listen to Tolmie mate - he resonates exactly how confident I am too. It was a very clear (indirect) from the horses mouth personally for me. Best itk i could have hoped for sick of this shit. It will never be over . . . the hate. It can only be the truth.

The more we see how the epl and their puppermasters operate and becoming more exposed only further backs all this shit up. Tbh I think many fans other clubs are realising this also. We have forming allies which is good. Always quite liked Villa:)

I'd an old school friend (big United fan) who i've got in touch with again in recent years as he lives near me now

His theory was that everyone was jumping off the sinking ship, after Berardi and Txiki left and a few players were linked with moves away in the summer.

A simple "so Pep stays" message on Tuesday evening led to a good hour of arguing on watsapp.

My point was that when we clear our name are they going to accept it, or move the goalposts again as they've done continuously with City since 2008:

Buying the league - yet every club is trying to do the same, and most clubs who won it in the past did so cos they'd bought some pretty good players.

Look at the net spend its ridiculous, now net spend doesn't matter when ours is one of the lowest in the league the last 5 years.

Pep won't be able to do it in England, a fraud and a chequebook manager - ahh but can he back up that title win the great teams win it again the next year

Wins a treble - ahh but 115, he cheated

Send him a recording of a severe curry and Guiness fart then never engage the **** again.

What irritates such a lot to me is,even when we are completely exonerated, we can't win .To win something we must gain something, and all we get is back to where we always should have been. Unless, of course we have all the suits and chairmen come to City's first home game ,prostrate themselves in the centre circle, and beg for forgiveness.
One of the many quotes from a mate ,many years ago ,that sticks in my mind
He who steals my purse steals trash, twas mine ,is his,
But he who filches from me my good name
Is in for a right kicking from Koolhand.
Couldn't remember the last line, so I guessed

How can the pl charge us for no cooperation, when any dealings with them get leaked. Mad world

This is why I don't get it. none cooperation?
all our annual figures are published every year and handed over and must have been signed off

The Leaked emails are not worth the paper they are printed on because a Hacker can also make changes to files as well as steel them, All these bollocks have been proven wrong in a court of law, the none cooperation was settled with both parties having issues with how they should have been handled, City was fined £10million but the media twisted the outcome in saying City was found guilty,

Clearly, the fine was Uefa get-out clause in they did not want egg on their faces because of the 2 year ban was over turned

He’s got stick in the past for talking shit, acting hard on a train & not putting out City’s side when obviously being connected.
Sam Lee has only tweeted out the same information that Tolmie posted on here six months ago so is not that well connected.
Personally I think its quite obvious what is going to happen, we will be cleared of all the major charges but found guilty on many of the none-cooperation charges. The narrative will be set that the PL tried all they could to prove the charges and only failed as we wouldnt cooperate.

The PL lose face but get some of the charges in their favour, we are tarnished with being found guilty on 30+ charges. Everyone can carry on with the mudslinging and snide comments about us as a club.
A re-run of the UEFA case fiasco. It does sound plausible and it would confirm that the only motive the PL had with their witchhunt was to damage City. But if the PL are found to have produced "no evidence" after four years (like UEFA) it is hard to see how they can gloss over it as easily as Ceferin did with his fake narrative.I also think that this time City will not accept the situation as passively as last time.

It also squares with what @Manchester33 heard directly from a contact within the club - that some charges were effectively dead in the water before the hearing started. Whether the IC would’ve still spent time discussing them at the hearing is another matter - and my guess is that they would still have to consider them as some kind of box-ticking exercise - but the club were super confident about the outcome of those, just as they are about the whole thing.

Of course, they might’ve misjudged it badly, and Stefan always says you never know for sure even if you have what looks like a slam dunk of a case, but I don’t think they would put out noises as emphatic as that if they thought it was 50-50.

If we do get cleared of all the main charges, I’m still expecting the IC to give the PL a token win on the non-cooperation charges to save them from total humiliation.
I could have said that tbf , all the bollocks about the grass being too long and such were never sticking and were always getting dropped . It still comes down to the three big charges as it has all along

Does anyone know when can we expect the result of this court case? Is it going to be before the end of this year or at the end of the season?

You are partly correct but they start off with odds compilers using their knowledge and opinion to construct a book, that has nothing to do with any weight of money.
You’re bit slow, I posted this ages ago :-) I said they guessed at what the punters would do but I was just being facetious. I did beat the odds makers some years ago with an early ante post e.w. bet at 100-1, which came in third. Champers all round.

If we have cited the ‘disgraceful emails’ (per Tolmie) alleging that that the PL was not being impartial, we may even escape the non co-operation rap. Outside bet, I know, but we can dream.

As much as I agree. I think with the size of this case and implications. All parties have been keeping the noise down especially as they don't want any hiccups about leaking news.

I'm nervous as hell about the outcome. I have spoken to a few friends who have done some work with City. The only thing they have said is "openly City are very confident and have been positive with all staff and its business as usual". But there are only a small number of people internally who know what is really going on.

Let hope their messages are true. I find it interesting - the PL are acting bullish with the APT
The PL still think they ‘won’ the APT case. #Delusionsareus.

Oi, I'm not slow! I did some odds compiling when I worked at the William Hill Regional Office in Stockport, it was more local events, like non league football or greyhound races and the bets would be restricted to regular punters and for a maximum liability of around £20 (it was over 40 years ago).

It's was incredibly difficult to price up ante post events in those days, if a stranger walked into a shop and wanted a bet like yours they'd be either refused, given the selection at lesser odds and/or the stake would be restricted.

For events like Miss World back in those days bets would be only laid to a stake of £10 or to win no more than £50 dependent on who the punter was.

Can you remember the name of your 100/1 placed horse?

I had seen something saying that all the main players were asked to be available for a 10 week period. Obviously it becomes a nightmare if it were to over run as getting the required people to be available at the right times will conflict with other responsibilities. Lord Pannick is never sat on his arse in the office waiting for the phone to ring for his next gig for example.
He’s already fixed it up; reported a couple of weeks ago that he is representing the independent schools in their efforts to defeat the VAT proposal, iirc.
