As far as tough games away v the 'big 6' + Newcastle and Brighton. Arsenal have played 5 to Liverpool's 2, and after this week City will have played 4.

So if you win, Liverpool's lead at the top would be a mirage. Like in the 400m sprint. The guy who is winning after 50m is winning because he starts ahead, however toward the backend of the race, the sprinters behind have a shorter pathway to the finish line.

Wouldn't surprise me if you win this weekend. Football can work like that.

This is a big part of your fanbases problem. You a look too far ahead and don’t focus on the task at hand. The teams that are serious about the title focus on their next game and that’s it. Meanwhile you are looking at fixtures in week 32 and onwards. If Liverpool maintain their current trajectory those games will become meaningless anyway.

The reality is Arsenal are under immense pressure in the present moment and are most likely one more match of dropped points away from being out of the title race.

Are you even definitely going to beat west ham away this weekend? They are coming off a good away win over Newcastle. Manchester United at the emirates? Their new manager will be desperate to make a statement. And you can’t even draw these matches you HAVE to win

Fair enough. Our injuries have been worse than yours and Arsenal's put together though ;) Not that I like using injuries as an excuse but it's been a factor - not the only factor granted - in our loss of form

Not arguing with that. Rodri alone is completely season changing in my opinion. We went through the same thing with Van Dijk although I would argue that the position Rodri plays is even more damaging and harder to replace.

Unfortunately Rodri IS our system, with him out we seem to have absolutely no idea how to play to any sort of decent standard. We're still trying to play Rodri-ball without Rodri and the world can see that we're a fucking shambles at present; passes going astray all over the pitch, players all leaving the ball for each other, still committing everybody to our slow possession-attack and leaving ourselves totally open to any sort of swift counter attack. And that's only the tip of the iceberg. We're so brittle, put us under any pressure and we shatter into 11 little individual pieces.

I have a horrible feeling that your lot are going to be celebrating wildly on Sunday night after giving us a total pasting.

I’m not here to sweet talk and offer fake optimism while kissing blue arse like a couple of other opposition supporters on here. I’ll say it straight. If we get through Madrid tonight mostly unscathed I do think we will batter you on Sunday.

That’s not me being arrogant that is just an observation based on where the two teams are psychologically are at right now. And an observation and match prediction most on here are seemingly agreeing with.

I’ve seen Liverpool in the same place as you lot are currently in probably twice under Klopp although granted I don’t think it was ever quite this bad. Every game suddenly looks a potential banana skin for possible dropped points. You could be playing anyone in the league even at the Etihad this weekend and the doubts would be creeping in as to whether you can get the job done.

Not that I necessarily believe that we will, but as you're being honest and not arrogant, I hope your prophecy and confidence ends up firmly stuck in your throat and your team ending up broken and humble.

The last trait, dipper supporters are never ever known for.

I can lie and say I think it will be a close contest if that will suit your agenda better?
 
As an Arsenal fan I'd only take 2 players (Salah and Diaz) from the Liverpool side and put them in our team. I've no idea why they are 8 points clear but for sure it's not based on the quality of their team and it can't be the manager either so it's probably an anomaly of statistics that will rectify itself over the course of the season.

I’ve got no idea how Arteta has spent 100s of millions of dollars in nearly 6 years and has a solitary FA cup (with another managers team) to show for it. Not even made a cup final since then.

Liverpool are 8 points clear because they have beaten the teams they are supposed to. Maybe if you had done the same you would be in a similar position to take advantage of city having an off season instead of dwelling in a top 4 battle.

It’s posts like this which highlight just how deluded and arrogant Arsenal supporters like yourself are.

After falling short of the title twice. City finally have a drop off and it’s another team that has stepped up to take advantage of the situation when you were so certain that it would be your beloved arsenal.

You’re having a very hard time to trying to make sense and come to grips with reality and what is actually happening and it’s very amusing to watch.

Scousers struggled at the weekend, Madrid have to win this one I can see the scousers assuming the position tonight and finding out their place is lower in the pecking order than they think.
