Sheikh Al-Thani must bring up the subjects of human rights abuses over:
  • Why there are people sleeping on the streets of London, while his hosts possess more than enough wealth to alleviate this problem.
  • Why a significant percentage of children in the UK are growing up in poverty.
  • Why people don't have access to decent healthcare unless they pay for it when his country's citizens have free, high-quality healthcare.
  • Why people can't afford to buy houses, or live in sub-standard rented accommodation, when his country's citizens are provided with financial assistance to buy properties.

Neat reversal. I am pretty fed up with people in UK constantly lecturing Arabs in colonial mode. Yes, we disapprove of many practices in the gulf but that is their way. We can encourage them to alleviate social ills but they are not likely to become western style democracies. Our measure is all wrong.
 
Given the sole purpose of these allegations is to " win the story " about City being cheats despite having been cleared by CAS , so that everyone turns a blind eye to other more clear and obvious gerrymandering and financial doping, it makes sense for the PL to drag this out for as long as possible .

Reputational damage is the only game they're playing and have been since we burst the cartel bubble

You can also add the fact that virtually every major establishment organisation in this county has admitted covering up sex abuse for decades, the jailing of innocent Postal Workers, and widespread corruption in the political and financial systems. Or our Foreign Policy which supports the sale of deadly weapons to oppressive regimes across the world. What about the Windrush scandal as well or military crimes carried out during the Northern Ireland conflict and Iraq and Afganistan. Once you start this game it is difficult to stop. The UK's human rights record is nothing to boast about.

Has nothing to do with the PL when this finishes though . It’s purely in the hands of the Tribunal.

When you read the 174 pages of evidence in the recent APT case the most shocking thing is the way the PL obstructed and delayed at every stage of the process. They didn't answer our phone calls and email. The PL officials did everything to undermine City's attempt to get their sponsorship deals done. There are pages and pages of this obfuscation. That's one of the reasons the Judges ruled that City had been "treated unreasonably." There is no doubt at all that the PL (not City) are dragging their feet. They have acted in bad faith since the first day of their investigation, leaking negative titbits of information to damage City via third parties like Club Directors. The "organised and clear" operation has been designed to damage City as much as possible in the media. It as the same as with UEFA who turned out to have literally "no evidence." That was the phrase used 11 times in the official statement by the CAS judges.
