Needs a rest. When you’re not sure what a players true position is you have to wonder is he really good enough.

as the great Colin Bell said, you need a 30 game run to make a judgement on a player.

palmer in his 12 games showed enough promise. he put us ahead in the CS and had it not been for him we would not have won the Super Cup, something we have never won before......

had you watched the EDS for the last 3 years you would know what I'm talking about
Pep disagrees with your's (and mine) point of view when it comes first team matters and Cole Palmer.

It is time to reinvest the game time for other midfield options Nunes for example.

It is a unfair decision from Pep to invest so much midfield resources into Rico Lewis that leading to very less game time for other midfield options. So when it is really needed they are not ready.

We need physical presence in the midfield. The pass and turn era has passed every PL team has improved over time. They evolved Pep has to adapt. Long gone the days when Liverpool and Chelsea midfield was filed with players could not manage a pass and City small build midfielders can just cut through...

Get the tall lads (from 1st time or EDS plenty of options) into the midfield give them game time.

Pep wanted him to stay, he wanted to go on loan but remain a City player if he was t going to get game time, Pep wouldn’t let him, you can’t fault Palmer for wanting to play football than just be benched earning a fortune.

Ok , time for me to rant.

He is awful, fuckin awful.
He will never make the grade .

I have been watching football for a bloody long time and I know I’m right on this one.

He is over confident in his own ability and he has no right to be.

He points at others as if he knows what to do, he has no pace , no tenacity, no inventiveness, defends poorly, gets on the wrong side of his man consistently, switches off all the time, gives up instantly when bypassed , has no powers of recovery, doesn’t score, doesn’t assist………..

I really could go on.

The very worst thing is , he gives the opponent a shot in the arm when they see him in our line up.

The experiment is over for me .
Im really sorry, but his inclusion is at best puzzling but, at worst, ever so slightly embarrassing.

You forgot he can’t head a ball either

I think he will continue to play for the reason that Walker is worse
That's the part I don't get. We literally won the treble playing Manu Akanji or John Stones at RB. Rico didn't play from February, Kyle didn't play much either, and we won the treble. It's not one or the other. It's neither. We have better in Manu and John.

It's just about keeping John fit which, sadly, never seems to happen.

Ake showed me today that he's easily one of our best defenders, as is Dias. Walker is a busted flush, so Akanji gets in the back four because he's good at RB and narrowing when Stones steps into midfield.

The Treble back four is the best defence we've ever had and all four of them are still at the club.

Seeing him jump out of that tackle after 10 minutes, when we were backs to the wall, is all I need to see thankyou, and just adds fuel to the fire.

Nothing footballer, and I'm bewildered as to what people actually see in him, he does nothing.

I'm still confused as to what position he played in the academy? That was his 80th game today, and I've seen absolutely nothing in the last 30 or 40 to suggest he's going to get any better, or that he's even improved.

Not his fault he's playing so often, but then you can't have your cake and eat it, as Palmer found out. Been given a huge opportunity in the last 18 months, and has been massively found out.

He needs a break from the side, he’s a weak link whilst we are in such poor form.

He is someone who could bounce back in the future as and when we catch a break with injuries.

Clearly a good player but he’s neither one thing or the other at the moment. I see other teams have young up and coming players, most have pace and stamina, Rico is technically very good and has a great football brain, but he is relatively slow and has no powers of recovery when got past.

I see him as a squad player, like Gundo (now) and Nunes, they’ve simply had to play too often and we’ve suffered accordingly.

why on earth is he the guy that is supposed to receive the defense penetrating passes from our centerbacks and follow on the half turn, instead of, you know, phil foden? bizarre choice

Stones can’t be relied on.

Been dogshit for a month, but it doesn’t help that he has to do the job of 3 players simultaneously, as Walker and Gundogan look like two pensioners that has won a raffle to play for us

Because the only time it happened against Liv, it was him who turned with the ball, run with it and made a very good through pass to Nunes. The last of our current players that should be blamed for this devastating slump.
