Everything has a final straw moment and I think this should be it for Walker.

There must be an alternative plan A and B if he's off anyway in a few months.

Its unfortunate if Plan A and B are scuppered by injury but then we need a Plan C that isnt starting Walker.

It's only sad if we can't accept it. He was great in the past and deserves our thanks.

I have no idea who gave him a new contract until June 2026 and for what purpose.

He just won the treble and had pocketed some of the best wingers in world football for our first Champions league, it did kinda make some sense (only some though, his pace going was always gonna affect more than most, a 2024 extension shoudlve been enough)

I don't think they thought the drop off would be THIS severe

Let's hope the Saudis are dumb enough to go in for him again or we may be stuck with him, his wages are too much for his current level

He was dropped to the bench for a large part of that run as we discovered we were better with Akanji at RB.

He had no right to a 3 year deal. Should have been allowed to walk to Bayern or Sheffield United.

At the moment, he’s reminiscent of an eggy fart which continues to linger.

I’m not gonna go in on Walker as age has obviously caught up with him but he’s been a fantastic signing for the club. With that said though, could Kabore do any worse at the moment?

Not seen much football this season so can’t comment on his form but the state of these comments. Been the best right back in the country and possibly the world the last few years. Age has possibly caught up with him but been a magnificent signing who has given us all these trophies and memories.

Thanks Kyle.

His concentration, or lack of is as worrying, if not more worrying than him slowing down a little in the 100 metres.

Last week for the scousers first goal he watches Gakpo for 30 yards over his shoulder as he runs into the box and then as soon as he hits the 6 yard line he just switched off and ignored him. Yesterday he can’t look across the defensive line and plays the attacker onside in the 4th minute of the game.. Next he’s marking someone on a corner and just doesn’t jump.

At his age, with his experience at the level he’s played at he should not be relying on pace being the only attribute to his game. Has his off field stupidly taken its toll? Is he struggling mentally and can’t focus?

He's playing because he is the “captain”, because we have not other fit defenders and because Pep won’t trust a kid in there. I hear loads calling out for Nunes to be tried there. Not sure if I’ve missed something but other than him being fit I don’t see why that’s being called out.

We should have let him go in the summer and we should have had a replacement lined up. Our scouting network has nose dived or our execs can’t get a deal done.

It looked crazy at the time when on that incredible run in without a recognised fullback he wasn’t in our best 11. It really was the time to sign another top right back whilst we were very much the best team in the world. Nothing seemed more obvious that when he inevitably lost a bit of pace he would drop off a cliff as a player.

That’s true. He’s still quicker than 2 other great premier league right backs in their prime Zabba and chuckle. His positional play is shocking though and i don’t see it suddenly changing now.

I agree mate, it’s not going to change. Don’t get me wrong, he’s been an incredible player for us but now we’re struggling it should be players like him that others can look to as a calm head.

his physical powers covered the weaknesses in his game and as they have dropped off badly in the last 12 months it is really showing and he is a liability at the moment

the number of goals he has cost us recently by being out of position and causing the offside trap to fail mounts every appearance.

he also loses concentration a lot, more than most players and previously could recover due to his pace but now he can't. he keeps switching off at corners and losing his man and keeps costing us goals

he has been a great signing for us, much better than I expected and deserves to be mentioned as one of the pillars of the team that has done so well the last 6-7 years, seeing him handle some of the best wingers with ease, that incredible burst of pace to surge past people, there hasn't been many full backs like him

unfortunately time seems to have caught up with him really quickly, last player I saw drop off this badly was Beardsley who went from playing amazing at 37 to not being able to kick a ball in 6 months.

I don't think we could bring in any of the youth team that would be worse than how he has been playing. We are a better team without him at present, yes we miss his pace but there are more negatives than positives

We are going to struggle to win any game he is on the pitch. Can't defend now his pace has gone and the rest of his game isn't good enough. Desperately need defensive options back so we can bench him.

Usual toxic positivity bullshit on this forum look at me I’m a better person than you lol the fella has been at fault for nearly all the goals we concede people are allowed to be fucked off.

He still has pace but his reaction time is half a second slower than before. I suspect it's mental fatigue from all the games he has played and personal problems he's had. He can get away with it in Int'l football as most of the other teams are utter shite.

Correct. He deserves far more respect than some comments on here.

The glimmer of hope is that he is still carrying his knee injury and as that improves, he may do too.

If not, thanks for everything Kyle, but it’s time.

Pep has already said that he was unfit, hadn't trained but played anyway because other players were injured or not ready.

If they were available he would have been rested until he was ready.

Those saying he needs to "fuck off out the club" need to have a long look at themselves.

He's been arguably the best RB in the country for years and the moment he hits a rough patch they turn on him.
