The players we have are on their knees. Totally knackered and due to players totally unfit to play are having to play with injuries. A minimum of two players are required in January as Pep doesn't feel that the academy lads (Wright, O'Reilly and Simpson-Pusey) are truly good enough at the moment. Probably can include McAtee in that as, despite two seasons of first team football with Sheffield United, he obviously sees something not right with him.

Availbility is the huge stumbling block as the players are just as valuable to the selling clubs. Bump up the price to more ridiculous levels than usual

But getting them to move mid-season is the other stumbling block unless they are not involved in any title charges or race for European places (or even relegation battles). Still have to throw more money to try and convince them to take the plunge.

It might be that we “overspend” on a couple of players, or we bring in a couple of cheaper stop gap type players and go all out in the summer.

I agree. Chelsea had 3 of our academy players in their team today. Surely we could give some of our present graduates a go.

The better players could easily reject the move until the end of the season. Stop gaps would still eat into the summer budget. That is the most important one.

Do you remember the season before we sold him? I bet you don't because he was injured for most of it. He was contributing fuck all whilst we won one or two trophies. Who should we have left out that season to suck up to him and give him centre stage to indulge his lack of defensive qualities? Rodri? Foden? De Bruyne? Bernardo? Gundogan? Alvarez? Haaland? Mahrez? Your shout mate.

Well if it was the case he was injured then isn’t it more about reassurances moving forward rather than dropping anyone for him? I think he could’ve played before Alvarez and Mahrez at times tbf as well. He hasn’t become as good as he is overnight. That talent was there and if we don’t recognise it or his potential and then let mahrez, Alvarez and palmer go that’s poor don’t you think?

I'm sure that this thread has forgotten that we are champions four times running, and treble winners. Prospects like Lavia have been gone for years and are only now proving to be good PL prospects. They would not be replacing any of our players consistently.
We have the worst injury list that I can remember and that is the main reason for our current issues. Not the only one, but by far the main one.

He wouldn’t start when everyone is fit , he would be rotated like everyone else is , just remind me how he performed in games against Liverpool, City , United and Arsenal this year …. He was ok in some , he was anonymous in some , this idea he is some kind of world beater is way off the mark

So we're going for the lot and you're saying drop Mahrez for Palmer? Are you real? The staff know how good he is. They watch him in training every day, when he's there. They know his mentality and everything. He didn't want to commit so he went. End of. What don't you understand?

If we throw in the EDS now we could easily kill off their City career in one go. Rico Lewis is struggling and he is the most advanced out of our youth team. We have to gradually start to introduce them (assuming they are good enough to work with Pep)

The squad is a in a bit of a mess tbh. Crazy to think it has got to this!

We need a rb, a cb, 2 cms, and a striker at a minimum imo.

If kdb does leave add an attacking mid to the shopping list along with a gk if ederson also leaves.

Going to take minimum 4 windows imo. The club are going to have to change their recent tactic in the market and not worry about how we are seen by other clubs. We need to spend heavily otherwise we will fall further behind.

We are hated anyway so might aswell have some fun throwing money about -:)
