First time to see Casparij in a press conference. I thought she did a very good job presenting herself and the team. I liked her English too.

Only once on my Brompton Tours of the Netherlands did I encounter a Dutch person who didn't speak English. We once arrived at a cafe and when the young lass asked us what we wanted we asked her where abouts in England was she from. Her English was better cut than ours. I'm Dutch, she said. Well, yer Mother must be English. No. Well, yer haven't learned to speak that English watching Coronation Street. She told us she leant her English from watching Downton Abbey!

Anyway, get to the Joie tonight you miserable bastards! Eight o'clock kick off. Don't count the number of back passes our goalie fields, just the goals Bunny is gonna smash in!

Not heard anything. Probably just been given a much needed rest.
The MDC via GT was mentioning 'an issue'! All rather vague, just as the first half was tonight. Much improved second half. St. Polten were solely concerned with stopping us scoring and in the first 45mins they entered our penalty area just once.

i think ST. P players had done so much chasing and pressing in the first half that we found the spaces and runs we hadn't managed in the first half. Yui was in command of the centre circle, Fujino had her best game for us and was constantly troublesome down in front of us. Very tricky and outpaced the FB time and again. Two assists for her tonight by getting past the FB and thumping the ball across goal for two finishes - one by Lily and t'other for Kerstin - first goal for us ever!

Great shame for Alex Greenwood - the only assured presence in the first half. It didn't look like a short term injury eithr.

Gutted for Alex Greenwood, hoping it is nothing serious.
However, the team seemed to improve once Laia Aleixandri replaced her, we were more offensive and quick, but for Kennedy.

Reports now saying Bunny might not be available until after the Christmas break. Could be missing for the games against Everton & Barcalona (good job we've already qualified). Just when there's signs of life from the treatment room it gets filled up again. Wishing the best for Alex but fearing the worst.

Yeah, it's one out and another one in! I think it might be months rather than weeks for Alex.

So to recap

Greenwood, Hemp, Shaw, Miedema, Shimizu, Layzell all out injured - some of those long term. Looking at Greenwoods injury last night Id be amazed if you saw her again this season.

Zero chance of any success with those absences; it just isnt feasible or realistic.

Hemp, Shaw, Miedema and Layzell all due back in Jan and we’re soon to go into the winter break after the Barca game next week so we’ll have a bit of time to get players back and Taylor has mentioned that we’ll be in the market for reinforcements in January. It’s not all doom and gloom yet!
