How long will the rebuild take?

Doku gets called out for losing the ball but at least he takes full backs on…..
Still time for doku to change his game at 22, also cost half the price of grealish. He's alot more of a threat than grealish as well. We instantly looked better against Liverpool when doku came on and also in the cup final against scum he added something that we were missing.

I can't see us buying 2 in Jan tbh, although we definitely need to reinforce that area. The other issue is that player needs to be at it from the off, with no time for the "learning Peps way" routine. It's a problem area at the moment though, no doubt.
Which is why in January at least one of the DM that we buy has to be PL experienced.

People have always moaned that our wingers don't take people on. If you want them to take people on you need to accept that they will lose the ball some of the time

Doku played well yesterday but didn't take the switch to the right very well and Danilo defended like his life depended on it

As for the rebuild - shouldn't take long. A right back, centre half and a midfielder and I think we'll be back on top again. Can easily do that in one window, just unlikely to be this January unfortunately

Sad to say it but half our squad look like they are ready for the Saudi pro league. Doesn't look like we have any fight in us right now and a rebuild is gonna take at least 2 full windows with 4 better than average signings

I don't think a rebuild will take a huge amount of time because structurally the club is sound.

I think the bigger question is what level of success do people expect off the back of it? Like it or not football is cyclical and the idea that we can very quickly repeat a cycle as dominant as our recent one seems a bit optimistic to me. Barring external events, there's little doubt we can be competitive and win stuff but expectations for some might now be out of whack with reality.

looking at the juve game a rebuild just needs another decent striker. And a realisation our midfield is still functioning but on its last legs. Oh and maybe a bit of twiddling with the defence.

Give your head a wobble.

Pep is not getting sacked and nor is he walking.

People on here really have lost their damn minds!
Yep - whatever. That was the worst derby performance I've ever seen - maybe. with the exception of the Simon Tracey 5-0.
Something needs to change

we have a "first choice" keeper out of form, one right back seemingly past sell by date,no proper left back, five centre halves that its just pick the two least injured and hope another or Rico can fill in and thats just the defence

I thought our goal was to be a global powerhouse. Real Madrid are a global powerhouse.

Is this the transfer activity of a team attempting to go toe to toe with Madrid?

Last 2 seasons main transfers:

Savinho in - Alvarez out
Gvardiol, Nunes, Doku, Kovacic - Palmer, Mahrez, Laporte out

Madrid

Mbappe, Endrick in - Kroos retired
Bellingham in - Benzema retired
Tchouameni, Rudiger in - Casemeiro, Bale out

They deal in elite. Not sure what we’re trying to do.

seasos done

not arsed where we finish 2nd 4th 10th etc

perfect time to blood the kids, we jave fuck all to lose
