Priorities are a quality CDM, RB, LB, CAM, ST
Doing this list highlights just what a fantastic team we have if we didn’t have the ridiculous injury list we’ve got. It also shows that we haven’t been proactive in the transfer market. Granted we also need to phase out some of our older players, that I have suggested we keep, with quality replacements.
Went through the list and couldn’t disagree on a single player! A strong reset is definitely required.

I disagreed on Stones and KDB. So replace KDB Gundogan., and Walker. Phillips has pretty much been gone for a couple of years. plus maybe Ederson. Don’t see 4 players as a strong reset really. Especially if we do one in January. More a refresh.

At least 3-transfer windows and I am not convinced we will manage much business in January 25 or 26; it's always been a non-starter for serious transfers and I see no reason why that will change just for us. I would suggest - and take this how you will - that our management and boardroom need to give their heads a serious wobble and take a close look at themselves. All of the issues we currently face could be seen a mile off, we have wasted 2-full years since the treble if you include the rest of this season and allowed the squad to age without acquiring the replacements that we need to maintain the high standards we have set.

Problem is how do we replace Kev
We don't. We didn't and could not replace Yaya, Silva, Kun et al. They were and are one-offs. We need to find a player who can control the midfield as KdB has done and build around him. But if we fish for a like-replacement, we will come unstuck. there isn't one.

We are in a weird spot with Pep imo.

If he can fix our problems this season then all good.

But if not and it looks like it'll take 2 seasons does it make sense to have a new man in to do it?

And then God knows our fate as we go into a post Pep world.

Again it hasn't affected Chelsea or even the rags that much but beyond that it does become an issue
It's not just about whether you can attract the players, but how much you have to pay them. The rags are having to pay players like Casemiro a huge salary and give him a long contract for him to join them. If we'd offered him a year or two on less money, he probably would have come to us because of the chance to win trophies and play in the top competitions.
