United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I went for a piss when the penalty was given and was walking back to my seat when they scored the 2nd so didn't see either of their goals.
Therefore, I will claim a 1-0 win.

Fucking shit.

At the moment we wouldn't win an arse kicking compy against a one legged man.

We will in the future tho and get it together.

I was walking near a lad in his 20's and his mate by the tram stops after the game, he was on a full on rant to his mate who could only get the odd yeah in, you all know the sort. Anyway I lost earshot with them but as I got to my car on Grimshaw Ln he was still going at it. It somehow warmed my heart.

For myself, I was very unhappy but chilled enough from driving when I was home just past 20.30 to not cause stress in the house.
Perhaps an arse licking compy against a one kegged man?

Amrik Gill was in the ground yesterday. That rat faced c*nt has a nerve.

As bad as things are one of the worst things yesterday was the fact that our captain is so seemingly devoid of leadership qualities.

We used to have real leaders. Even when we were pretty poor in terms of football quality or results.

This is another reason why change is needed. A new set of leaders need to emerge.

Dias screaming at him where to stand to face one of their set plays yesterday highlighted that.

A common recurring theme during this run. Players trudging back to the halfway line looking totally forlorn with no one galvanising them after each goal we concede is a regular sight now.

As im sitting in leeds airport heading home after that shit show I'm trying to look on the positive. So in the annals of history that defeat will be just another derby defeat as painful as it was. However i would rather have lost yesterday than in 2019 with 5 games to go or in 2023 or last season when that could / would have cost us the league. Losing the first 2 sets of a tennis match 6 0 6 0 isn't so bad if you can win the next sets 7 6 , 7 6, 7 6.
Best i can do. Hold you heads up lads to the gobby rags that will crawl out of the sewers today. CTID

Wtf actually happened yesterday??

I've been around a long time and experienced bad times, but it was strangely fun and the normal- didn't expect anything. But for this team to just fall off like they have, words fail me.

I don't know if it really is injuries, small squad, or if Pep has 'lost' them because he insists on persisting with tactics that are clearly not working any more. Yet when Gundo and Bernie are interviewed post match they make the right noises. It's all very baffling.

What wasn't though was the obligatory Rag Penalty at ours and Eddie not saving. Still I only needed look at the ref to know any excuse to award them one.

I'm a bit tied up with a house move/ helping someone with a project so am a bit detached from the usual shite way I feel after a defeat to those shysters. I am avoiding the media but I would stake my sons new house on their being some sort of tripe about Amorim becoming the new Klopp and being Peps kryptonite blah blah ad nauseum ad nauseum.

Fwiw Pep is displaying all the traits he had during last season at Barca. Only those results were, in the main respectable....

So where from here??

The current car crash all comes down to the situation where the manager waits until November to decide if he still wants to be the manager and DoF asleep at the wheel whilst on his victory lap. You just can’t allow that to happen no matter what success Pep has brought previously. You can’t stand still when a rebuild is needed.

This is not a transition season. We are in a tailspin and the transition season will be next season and possibly the season after when we will be in the same position with Pep leaving again.

No idea what the solution is but if feel sorry for anybody that thinks a load of new players will rock up on January 1st ! We are fucked. Possibly the worst team in whole league at the moment and it ain’t going to improve anytime soon.

Did anybody at the club ever think what would happen if Rodri was injured for a season ?

Mind blowing complacency which will cost us hundreds of millions to sort.

Any midfielder City are interested in signing in Jan will have £40m added to their fee by the selling club and won’t happen till the end of Jan when our season will be toast anyway.

And why trust Txiki with a penny after complete and utter tfr failure for 2 years.

Do we rebuild in January quickly, and cull our legends, or is. It going to be slowly slowly, I fear with the club world cup without an injection of 8 top players next season will be another write off. It's hard to say it but it feels like half the team are playing in a benefit season and the other half not good enough to go up to the level required, it's been the worst season in terms of entertainment for a good long while. We need 2 proper full backs, a complete refresh in midfield, and certainly another striker, as far more depth, playing every 4 days is killing us. Personally ii feel the rebuild has to start in January, and players bedded in, KDB, Gundo, Bernie, Walker, Stones, Grealish, Nunes are not the future

Couldn't bring myself to watch the highlights after I got home from the game , but just seen the goals, how the fuck did Gvardiol not clear that second from the line? Calamitous defending.

Embarrassingly emotional thread.

That last mad 5 minutes aside we were much the better side. That 5 minutes doesn’t happen and everyone’s buzzing saying we’ve steadied the ship etc.

You can’t blame Pep for Nunes being a **** for their first. You can’t blame Pep for no one putting pressure on the ball for a good 5 seconds before Martinez puts Amad in for the second. You can’t blame Pep for Ederson (again) making a complete **** of himself by rushing out when he had no chance of getting it,

Mad, ridiculous individual errors. That’s it. Fuck all to do with Pep.

I suggest some of you log off and sleep on it you sound like 6 year old girls.
You can blame Pep for picking Ederson over Ortega when his two previous games were Feyenoord and Juve, and he was pants in both of them.
You could also argue that there have been too many "5 minutes" of late...capitulations have been a regular occurrence during this poor run but you're right, that is on the players.

We were shit bar literally a few moments of decent passing. We didn't just lose the game because of a few defensive lunatic moments. We lost the game because we didn't win the ball often enough, didn't maintain possession often enough, didn't attack often enough didn't have shots often enough and didn't score more than one goal.

Our creativity is gone. Has been for weeks and has been declining for months before any injury crisis.

We were not the better team before united equalised.

Whether Pep stays or goes we can't delude ourselves into thinking we are unlucky. This crisis is deep. Imo at least.
It pains me to say it but I agree with with everything you say.
