For the most part, it is. Celtic and Rangers as clubs encourage it, profit from it and the majority of each fanbase aligns themselves to a certain persuasion.

Hearts, Hibs and Airdrie have elements who are just as bad but the majority of their fanbase no. That's the difference. Someone linked a Cercle Bruges forum to me the other week where the Cercle fans were discussing Hearts fans behaviour including racism and constant anti IRA chanting from their support. Hearts fans made a thread about it on their own forum with the vast majority calling their own out and trying to disassociate.

That's the clubs who have problems. As I see it in Scotland, nobody else does - there will be the odd isolated incident I get that, but as a general standard it's those 5 who have problems to differing extents.

Hearts now compared to 30 or more years ago the change is startling.
Still of course their is work to do and in my opinion you will sadly never ever eradicate the problem.

Just back from the badlands of deepest darkest Beith. Last 16 tie of the Scottish Junior Cup against Largs Thistle. Great game and football being played like it used to be!! Thistle ran out 3-1 winners after conceding a shocker in the first minute. Far more enjoyment watching football at this level.

Largs are absolutely flying but unfortunately for them it looks like the last season of these boys playing together and even the manager moving on (Talbot sniffing around)

You know you are watching Ayrshire Junior football when one Keepers strip is royal blue and the others is Orange : )))))

Killie magnificent after another idiotic early red card today. Limited Hearts and broke well on the counter attack a few times.

As expected, Celtic beat Rangers to win the Premier Sports Cup. Though it apparently was a bit tougher than many would have expected. Rangers seem to have given it a good go.

Was surprised by how poor. Plenty of creative type players on the pitch - Dhanda, Spittal, Vargas et all. Had a couple of moments but I'd have expected a lot more from those guys.

Just seen clips of rangers v Celtic on you tube .
Seen the Celtic end letting off flares, strobe flares etc .
Seen a few other Scottish teams fans do it too, is it allowed stuff like that in Scotland.
I know in England it's not allowed.

People say they are not dangerous but I was at Arbroath when the UBs let them off under the shed behind the goals. The worst I e seen and sure it’s still on YouTube. Nightmare

You had your man on and he broke up more attacks than your team. Gave you decisions that were a disgrace, two shy’s that were ours. We were well below and still played the best football, created more chances and won. Something that’s just a faded, distant memory if your mob. All the excuses, all the woe is me. You’ve been at it for years until Beaton, it’s an anomaly that can’t be explained, when the penny dropped you couldn’t get away with blatant fucking cheating, you get the same as everybody else now. Still get more free kicks when teams are pressing you, especially if that Cheatin bastard is involved. Saw a post with his school page, Loves the Rangers, wants to be a grade 1 ref. Free beer in Rangers pubs.

See you in January and if we turn up, another defeat for the Waffler.

Details of Willie Collum chat with new Rangers CEO laid bare

The Scottish Football Association have accepted Rangers were denied a crucial penalty kick in Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup final defeat against Celtic at Hampden.

The Scotsman understands that during a discussion between new Ibrox chief executive Patrick Stewart and Willie Collum, SFA Head of Referee Operations, it was admitted that a mistake was made when VAR officials failed to alert referee John Beaton that Celtic centre-half Liam Scales’ tug on Rangers winger Vaclav Cerny’s jersey occurred on the line, rather than just outside the box. Instead of giving a penalty. Beaton awarded a foul just outside the box from which James Tavernier shot over the bar.

Collum is set to address the incident in the SFA’s own VAR Review Show scheduled to be recorded and aired this week

It is the latest VAR error set to be flagged by the Key Match Incident panel. This weekly report from a five-person committee looking back at selected incidents in the previous weekend’s fixtures will be published on Friday.

Stewart, who has given his first interview since officially starting at the Ibrox club on Monday, has spoken to SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell as well as Collum with reference to the incident, which took place three minutes into extra time with the score locked at 3-3. Rangers later lost a penalty shootout 5-4.

He later confirmed that he had felt compelled to be in touch with the SFA about refereeing already. “As people will know, I have spoken with the SFA for an explanation about the non-awarding of a penalty in extra-time,” he said. “I’ll wait to hear what the SFA have to say about that.”

It’s understood the SFA believe they have already offered all the explanation possible: the officials erred. Neither VAR referee Alan Muir nor his assistant Frank O’Connor have been allocated games this weekend, although Beaton will be in charge of Hearts v St Johnstone on Sunday.

Not good enough. Not nearly enough. This was not a subjective call that they can hide from. Anyone with eyes could see it’s a clear penalty and therefore Muir and Francis Connor , both with previous against Rangers and both known Celtic fans, must go and go now!

Just seeing the decision today, an obvious penalty which should have been awarded.

But it's all we've heard and read about for days since it happened. Compare and contrast to the penalty at Hampden which Aberdeen weren't awarded against Rangers or Killie against Celtic the year before. VAR was around then too. Can't remember such an outcry and demands for sackings etc.

As usual a much bigger deal being made when it involves one of the old firm gaining and the other losing out of a poor decision. I'm sure they'll more than make up for it with some very dubious awards of free kicks, bookings, corners and soft penalties where they can - such is the pressure they're put under.
