PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It raises an interesting question. He was initially COO for Manchester City when I was on City Matters. Danny Wilson was, and still is, Managing Director of Operations for City. Then Omar moved to COO for CFG Football Operations. He was replaced by Roel de Vries, but de Vries is COO of CFG. Soriano is CEO of CFG.

City are around 80% of CFG, based on revenue. In terms of global brand recognition we're probably 90%. Yet we don't have anyone more senior than Danny who is wholly responsible for managing City's off-field business. No club specific CEO or even COO. That level of management comes from CFG.

NYCFC has a CEO and i bet the other clubs in the CFG structure also have a club-focused CEO. But the club that makes up 80% of CFG doesn't. I simply don't understand this and wonder how much of a part this might play in our seemingly poor recruitment planning and strategy.

I've also expressed my concerns about the composition of the City (and CFG) boards, which contain no executive or independent directors. People say we're a well run club but I have my doubts.
this is very interesting i've always thought kaldoon was the ceo of city

I was listening to a podcast recently and Ian Cheeseman said he’d heard whispers but can’t comment until reports are verified,

…it sounds to me like this is related to the charges, I would imagine that the players have heard things too and wonder if this is related to our drop (off the nearest cliff) in form??
is the wipers he heard the 40 point deduction that's been mentioned in this thread

Haven’t we got some bird who’s CEO of “fan experience “?

What do you think Berradas job was at City? Can you describe his role?
He was the COO. You were commenting about the relationship between Manchester City and Man Utd's owners but I think it's more relevant to ask how hands on our current ownership is with the football operation given a) Berrada doesn't seem to me to have been replaced and b) the lack of transfer activity when the warning signals had been flashing last season (KDB, Walker, and the form minus Rodri).

Agree strongly with this. When I first learned that Soriano had become the CEO of CFG, I raised the question of how much attention Soriano now paid to purely City matters. There is, for example, the question why we have no deal with the Co-op arena, yet they will take hospitality money from City fans on match days. Soriano was in the position of negotiating with himself. I have little doubt that our failure to renew the squad would be less likely if we had our own full time CEO. Who was overseeing Txiki? I guess that Soriano was working more or less full time on NYCFC at the time. He also spends a lot of time abroad where CFG have a club or are looking to do so.

Thank you for this info guys. It all does smack of board level complacency and inability to grasp the basic concept that it is just as hard to stay at the top as it is to get there.

What is the point of anyone say they have heard something but can’t say except wanting to be relevant or sound ITK His contacts at the club are low level at at one where there are just rumours City are tight as a nut and nothing comes out
Cheeseman is just a fan doing a video blog it’s the same most weeks and I’ve have stopped watching as the sound quality is horrendous and he hasn’t even got any anti wind device for hi mic for a former professional broadcaster it terrible
