Holding of Haaland

If he has his arms wrapped tightly round Haaland - as we all saw - Haaland has no possible chance of moving towards the ball. He was prevented from running - or any movement towards the ball - and dragged down to the ground. Ignoring bias against City, how on earth is no penalty justifiable?
Give the penalty I can guarantee the coont wont do it again.

The most awful referee performance I’ve ever seen. Was this the game Cheeseman told the truth and got sacked?
Cheesy definitely had a rant after that shitshow. It was on YouTube, but I think it's been pulled. It was 100% bent. Talor was not in charge of that game.

Not sure he was actually sacked, but he was certainly put on gardening leave, and then they parted company soon after. Wouldn't be surprised if he signed an NDA because he never talks about it.

A few seasons ago they announced that there was to be a big clampdown on holding of players at corners and free kicks. Seems they've given up trying to even bother now.
That was the first season Rodri was here! It lasted about 6 matches when it was clear there were going to be so many penalties the game would go to shit.

There is a country mile of difference between the 'holding' that went on then and the cage fighting that prevents Erling getting near the ball. His reaction is interesting and he usually ends up having a nice chat and smile with the perp. Its not like he doesnt try and muscle himself free and the resultant carnage is quite amusing to watch as the guilty fall over him legs and arms everywhere. Its so obvious what is going on and of course its a foul. I don't know why the club aren't going in big as it is costing us many goals. How can you score if every time you set foot in the penalty box some 6'3" ape physically assaults you and the referee penalise you if you retaliate. Seriously, how can he make runs, get anywhere near set pieces or crosses. Its fucking disgraceful. Imagine if the same treatment was inflicted on Mo.

He certainly needs to be away from the crowd scene. If he’s being wrestled in the corner of the box it’s going be much more obvious.

Maybe he should stand 25 yards out and then just run he’ll for leather into the box.

To be honest, I don't think it could have been any more obvious than it was on Sunday. The whole of the TV audience saw it, meaning that VAR would definitely have seen it, and given that we are told the Video Referee is an integral part of the officiating team they just blatantly chose to ignore a CLEAR foul in the penalty area, which we are told is one of the primary they reasons they are allowed to get involved. And yes, there was still contact as the ball was in play.

I've tried engaging Keith Hackett on this very subject on social media, but he's refusing to bite.

When they highlighted the holding by spotty. Nev nevs spawn knew it was a pen and shut his mouth straight away. Clear pen. Later in the game slab head was blatantly pushing away at Haaland but again nothing. It’s almost like they think he’s that good that he should be able to deal with it. I do think he’s soft as shite though. Maybe needs to give it back and take a couple reds just to establish himself. Ibrahimavitch is would have picked slabhead up and chopped him.
Whilst I admire Erling’s strength, I cannot imagine any other player in the league putting so much effort into staying on their feet. With good cause.

He should go down. Every time!

But most of the tv audience were rags.
Why would Var step in and upset them all?

He needs to start pulling folk about. Far too friendly and definitely not tough enough.

He put in a firm but fair challenge on Slabhead and was instantly penalised. He's just one of those players that is treated differently, and probably down to unconscious bias.
If it takes a couple reds then it’ll be worth it. He’s a giant that gets bullied. The Argentine midget pocketed him.

Do you know why they do it. They know Haaland is a pussy cat. He seems to enjoy those interlocking moments, he should be much more mobile around the area. That causes alarm in the defence and then the possibility of a penalty offence aroses. Haaland is playing like a guy who wants Barcelona to pull a dodgy deal to finance a transfer.

Why can't the ref or var be interviewed after the match like managers and players ? Honestly I would like to know how the decision was made that spottys holding wasn't a foul. Fans pay big money to watch games so why can't we be told the rules ?
If we know why than we can know the rules. Each season as I get older I understand football rules less and less.
They wouldn’t have asked about it anyway.

He only has to breathe on the opposition player and a foul is given against him, that’s what doubly pisses me off!!
He's brought up to play the game fairly. If the match officials can't apply the rules fairly and objectively, that's on them at the detriment of the game.

I've said it before, and I'll probably say it many more times until something changes: The PGMOL are not fit for purpose.
