Cost of living crisis - how are you all doing?

I feel lucky I'm only responsible for me.

All my financial woes are my fault and last year I finally started to get to grips with them. My rent is the largest bill. For what I pay to live in a shoebox is horrendous. Every month is all about making sure my utility and financial bills are paid and I feel lucky if I have £50 a week to live off. To have a 'decent' month I have to work at least 4 rest days and I resent doing that as it destroys any so called work life balance.

I feel for people I see at work who are really struggling in comparison. As in using what's left of their money to cover transport costs to their work.

I go through many towns across the East Midlands, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire where a certain political party has turned the locals into feeling like victims who need to be heard. Who in turn attack me for having the audacity of wearing a uniform of authority. I have been assaulted numerous times by very desperate people and one absolute thunder ****.

In the so called 7th richest country in the world where is the wealth? I'm struggling on a so called living wage. I cannot imagine how people cope on a minimum one.

No dividends or bonuses shoukd be paid out until it’s all sorted, if you’re a shareholder sorry but tough shit, either that or take back into ownership and give them 1p to the £1 they own.

Ofwat are getting stuck in in fairness to them. I read a few weeks ago bonuses were denied and then this today.

My water bill is going up by 53% , my company asked for 84%! Cheeky fucking cunts ! I have a meter , if you live on your own or just a couple with no kids get a meter

i live on the edge of the desert.
it never rains.
my combined (unlimited) monthly water, wifi & electricity bill is £15.

Is that becuase the grass is greener over there....
I believe so!!

In all seriousness, I’m single, 53, no kids, Mum & Dad passed away in recent years. I’m just cashing my chips in early.

I’ve an Irish passport so no issues with Brexit and I just believe I’ll have a better life. I’ll get a job when there as think it’s important that you have something to get up for. I’m not a big drinker so that’s not a concern as I know of others who have succumbed to that when moving there. Oh and I’m learning Spanish as refuse to be like Brits abroad!

My biggest concern is how hot it gets in July and August!!

I feel this country is going down the pan and it’s a whole confidence issue with just about everyone. Like City but on speed!!
