Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

There’s lots to moan about but the glaringly obvious issue is the CM is a universe away from where it needs to be.

Gundogan is like playing with 10 men he’s that far off it. We are absolutely desperate for 2 proper CMs. Players with fitness, pace, desire. That 2nd goal is the result of an unacceptable lack of physicality. Rogers just rags about 4 players out the way and off he goes. Embarrassing for a central midfield.

For me, we fix that in January and we’ll be a lot harder to score against. The start point.

If Pep is here at the end of January I'll be amazed.

Dog shit tactics.
Letting Gundo finger his arse so ge gets a game every week.
Thinking Rico is the next iniesta.
Suicidal high line with players slower than the titanic.
No faith in the youth.
And no subs until 80 odd minutes.

No wonder he is being questioned.

We are the easiest team in the league to play against.
Pep compared Lewis to Lahm ffs!

This "decline" is more like dropping off a cliff at 100mph and from a massive height.
Honestly never seen anything like it.

Injuries and age are obviously a big part of it but I think there's more to it as well.

The players look inhibited, lacklustre and burnt out. It's more "mental" at the moment, not just the injuries and age.
Whether there's anything else remains to be seen, but I wouldn't be surprised either.

Rogers, palmer, luiz, brahim, even tommy fucking Doyle. Delap. FRIMPONG. Michael Olise. The amount of academy players we have got rid of that could do a good job for us now is absolutely criminal.
They didn’t get rid off, the academy is doing what it’s there for…
How many ex rags and others are playing regularly in the prem ?

Lol,the academy is arevenue stream for investment into the first team, if they arenot good enough for us they go.off and have a good career somewhere else

Haunt him lol
Still reckon I need to man up about our top 8 battle?

I Hate saying But Pep lost the dressing room, You can see it a mile off and players don't want the ball or want to play.
Forget the transfer window and bring in new players, the old ones will still be around creating trouble for the manager

Its nothing to do with the injuries or Rodri missing, it is more straightforward than an injury crisis, it's player power and loss of belief in Pep and his system, The Players want a system to suit the remaining players we have and not square pegs in round holes, Why have a top end Car and then put Ford spare parts in it,

Pep lost the plot weeks ago, it's still the same old system and we lose.
If you have a problem don't keep playing the same way because it will not work against every team we face

Enough is Enough
We want answers now, Somebody from the board or chairman has to step in and take control, if there are plans in place then let's here them, We need the answers to what we are watching because it's not good seeing players ghosting and fear the ball coming to them,

Haaland might as well not play because nothing is coming from him and did he even have a shot today ?

Pep lost the dressing room has to be the worst take on the current situation I've seen. Log off

Another prophesy with no credibility !

Why is it, that even though we’re playing away, against a decent team, we play such a high line and allow the home team to play on the counter?

Barmy!

Pep obviously shares some of the blame but the senior players need to do their part too.
No fight!
No desire!
No concentration!
No pride!
If Pep changes the system and we drop deeper then the same players will still be doing the same shit we’re currently seeing, only closer to our own goal.
Only with even less goal threat than we have now.
Allowing the opposition to bomb forward more than they do already.
Putting us under even more pressure.
He can’t play the kids cos there’s not enough kids to cover every player currently playing shit.
We can’t even do the basics right so I’m not sure how he fixes it with the foundations crumbling in front of him.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t spend big in January cos the way things look I can see Pep walking at the end of season, if not before.
I can’t see us spending big if they think he’ll walk, they’ll wanna leave that to the next manager.
The players aren’t currently playing for the manager.
If they were they’d be showing more fight.
I said a week or two ago that Khaldoon should get the players in a room (without Pep) and ask them if they actually want Pep here.
If they do then they need to be told to show it!
If they don’t then they can leave as far as I’m concerned.
This isn’t going to be fixed this season, it may not get ‘fixed’ at all, without changing the manager or a large part of the squad.
The clubs planning or lack of has played a huge part in this situation also.

Started as an injury crisis, then a confidence crisis, now it’s a passion and leadership crisis. We have no one on the pitch leading us. Everton at home maybe our biggest game in a long time. We need a win and a performance now more than ever before. Forget about trophies we just need to win a few games and regroup. Can’t see us signing anyone until the summer while we have these charges hanging over the club. Pep has got to drop Gundo and Bernie for me. Not sure I would even play Haaland if we’re not going to get the ball to him then what’s the point because he doesn’t give us anything without the ball.
Losing Dias is a major blow. Not much we could have done and that performance doesn't seem to me we have folded like a pack of cards despite Villa being their usual energtic selves.
