He’s been great in quite a few seasons though and has put in some excellent performances in some our biggest games

You could do but Fodens role should be to take control of the game or make things happen.

He should be demanding the ball all the time and trying to get us playing.

He isn't on his own I agree, but given he's just won POTY I think we should be demanding a lot more from him.

I think there's been too much focus on Foden's potential rather than how the team can play to his strengths

He's now scored 91 goals for City from 289 appearances which for a midfielder who doesn't take penalties is phenomenal

However there's still this obsession (especially with England) to shoehorn Foden into something that simply doesn't suit him.

Ironically he's morphed into a 2nd striker who can ghost into goalscoring positions precisely because he doesn't get involved in the direct play as much as some people would like.

Hopefully today's goal will kick start his confidence and he can now go on a run.

Actually thought he was one of our better outfield players on the day (not a high bar). Had a few shots, a few take ons, worked pretty well defensively in terms of ground covered and scored. Still a way to go to get back to his best, but some encouraging signs.

Ran around but but didn't arsed to put in a real challenge until he scored. The pressing was half hearted. Sadly it was the same with Gundo as well. What is the point of this kind of pressing.

Didn’t do anywhere near enough. And yet still looked like the only one capable of producing anything. Which is a pretty neat summation of where we’re at.
Desperately need him to come back to form - feels like the only spark that might help us turn things around. Can’t see it coming from anyone else.
