Watch Villa 2nd goal again we had plenty of chances to challenge Rogers or at least put the body across him but no one wanted to do so. unbelievable...
I think there is one maybe two who are not up for this fight , i see the others trying, we havent won what we have without a steely mentalitly , they just need some luck and get a win and some confidence . The oldies brains and bodies are not in sync , bernie has run himself into the ground for years , every game, understand why he and the others are knackeredFeel like we’ve hit a point where the players are just letting things drift away now. You can tell by the lack of energy and desire in matches.
A lot of them know it’s gonna be their last season so there’s no interest in turning things around.
That was so disheartening watching that.Watch Villa 2nd goal again we had plenty of chances to challenge Rogers or at least put the body across him but no one wanted to do so. unbelievable...
I was as annoyed at that 2nd Villa goal as the scums 1st last week, for different reasons though. It summed up perfectly our mentality at the moment. That was so disheartening watching that.
Nothing to do with tactics or age or tired.
That’s players not doing enough. Weak piss challenges.
That is a fundamental mistake, to assume something that worked in the past will continue to work in the future. Life, sport, business demand constant evolution of strategies and tactics there are so many examples where that assumption has failed. Along with many others I believe we are a busted flush, we need to start to modify our game plans we just can't go on believing that winning the possession stats is all that's needed. Allow Foden to have bit more license to attack directly in advanced positions, try to get fullbacks into over lap positions, try to play direct through the middle to turn central defenders and give Erling a chance... or let's just carry on like we did in the last 12 games, bar Forest where actually their striker missed a couple of absolute sitters...I find it amazing that supporters can question the same tactics that we have had 8 years of success with. We have had 8 weeks of failure , there is no need to question Pep. He will get it right , he always does
There just seemed to be a silent acceptance in the city end when that went inThat was so disheartening watching that.

When I watched live I had a feeling some of them were avoiding to make physical contacts. Confirmed when I watched the replay. Out of all I could only say Bernado and Grealish still arsed to work as they had always been doing and they made challenges tried to cover for the other teammate positions. Could not say so for most of the others. Some did not even step a yard to close down the space and it was not only the old ones. Terrible to watch. That was so disheartening watching that.

We can live in hopeOh, we WON'T be winning it this season, you can be sure of that .... top four could be a possibility if they can somehow find some winning form after Christmas, but even that doesn't look likely right now.
I really think it’s time some of them were dropped. It should have been done 3/4 weeks ago. When I watched the live I had a feeling some of them were avoiding to make physical contacts. You are assuming it would only be 1 if it was to happen. We can easily afford a season out of the CL. PSR is not calculated over one season.
60m plus is on offer from the revised World Club competition.
When was the treble? That was when I think this squad decided they had done it all and intensity dropped
Our transfer policy has been great over the past few years but it seems Kalvin, Doku, Nunes and Savino are poor signings, they just don't seem to fit in. Perhaps it's a good thing Txiki is leaving, he's done a fantastic job but it's probably time for a change.
90% of our squad can just be gone. This performance is absolutely unacceptable and it's partially on Pep too, for playing the same dead squad over and over again.
Ten years of supremacy....I find it amazing that supporters can question the same tactics that we have had 8 years of success with. We have had 8 weeks of failure , there is no need to question Pep. He will get it right , he always does
Bollocks like saying someone wanted out when he would have stayed with more minutes offered or gone on loan.Phillips has been on loan for 2/3 seasons. Nunez only joined last season and doesn’t even play in the same position as Lavia ffs, who has also been injured half the time since leaving.
As for Palmer he was told he was wanted but he wanted out, even on loan, which we didn’t want to do, stay or go he was told, so more bollocks being spouted.
I’m done discussing the players who have left with you and anyone else who’s using hindsight and revisionism to suit their arguments.
Walker as well you don’t need to be too physical to get a hold of his shirt and take the card the whole team should know by now if they’re running at our goal it’s most likely a goal. I get your point tho about their physicalityFor the 2nd goal I thought Kovacic and maybe Lewis(?) did actually try to tackle' block or foul Rodgers but were just not physically capable of doing so. :-(
I personally put my faith in Pep. Do you think if we drop off teams will automatically attack leaving space for Erling? I would not and a lot of teams would be happy to take a point Teams don't allow Phil any space , they get all their men behind the ball. Villa allowed space on the left that Jack failed to exploit. We can't get the fullbacks overlapping because we have no defensively minded midfielder who can fill in.That is a fundamental mistake, to assume something that worked in the past will continue to work in the future. I agree.
I’ve said Khaldoon needs to get the players in a room (without Pep) and ask them do they still want Pep as their manager.
If they do then they need to be told to start fucking showing it with fight, heart and desire.
If they don’t then those players can leave as far as I’m concerned, regardless of what they won.
I did wonder if it was 115 related but I doubt Pep would be clawing his own face off and looking ill with it all if he knew we were getting charged.
It’s gonna be a fight for top 4 and we need everyone fighting together.
If not we’re in serious trouble.
I agree.
