2 signings are all we can make in January and make the right ones if possible and they will make enough difference for this season. It’s nowhere near 8 player, to think it would take 8 or 9players to get to last years level is just daft. 2 in January. 3 in summer is all we need.
But then we need more as backup pal, Pep must now realise you can’t have such a small squad forever.

Is there any truth in the rumours that Ipswich are looking to end the loan of Phillips? Could throw a spanner in the works to our plans given squad places?
Not heard anything about it, but even if he came back doesn’t mean we have to put him in the squad?

You don't have to register every player. If the squad is full then the surplus train but don't play. Just like James McAtee really.
Why would players sign then train but not be allowed to play because they aren’t registered? McAtee makes no difference to the registered squad list.
In fact whats the point of paying players wages when they can’t play?

We can still only buy 2 more before needing to sell. Such a small squad is 2 short of the maximum allowed.
we've loads on the room on the PL list if they could send him back, he jsut wont go in the CL squad

It's not players we sign, it's players that stay. We wouldn't sign someone and then not register them. McAtee was a tongue in cheek, throwaway line intimating that he rarely gets on the pitch.
If Phillips came back and there was no squad place available what would you do?

Because no-one will take them on and there's no room in the squad. Not difficult to understand. It's not players we sign, it's players that stay. We wouldn't sign someone and then not register them.
So we should buy some players we can’t register and pay them, and the players will be happy with that, madness.Luckily we aren’t run by madmen so it won’t be happening..

Two signings makes no difference to this team and wont be saving the season. The rot goes to probably 8/9 players.
It will take a lot of money and time to get to the levels we’ve become accustomed to and that assumes we can get said players and prices we can afford

I haven't said that. Read carefully now. I'll print it slowly.

Let's assume we have two squad places available.

We buy three players.

Therefore we have one player too many.

If we can't sell someone then we don't register the player we value least or need the least.

We still have to pay him his wages so he trains and doesn't play.

Do you understand now?

I don’t agree. Firstly, if we do make new signings then the team will improve, any player would want to be part of that. Secondly, Pep has just signed for another two years, and he’s certainly not a quitter. Finally, the board has reiterated many times that there is irrefutable evidence we have done nothing wrong, so we should therefore be carrying on as normal.

From a new signing’s perspective, if they are genuinely worried and don’t believe the club, then just have a relegation release clause added. It’ll not be needed, but if it makes them stop worrying and sign them no problem.
I’m really worried that the risk of us being found guilty is way higher than most people think.

I can't speak of what the Premier League does or doesn't have, but if we'd done what we are accused of doing, the club's auditors would've resigned years ago.

For this alone, I'm supremely confident.
Let's hope so, but what happens in AD stays in AD, and our beloved owner is basically the law.

Personally think the worst thing we can do is overspend on stop gaps, big name aging player etc.

Any big name player (like Frenkie De Jong) who is available in January is available for a reason, such as poor form or stupidly high wages.

Regardless of Pep only being here for another two years, a rebuild needs to be future proof and considered.

We need young players, players on lower contracts with potential. Nothing we do in January will win us the champions league or get us back in the race for the title.
