As long as business is going well it's all good, not really out of touch at all.

I would imagine there'll be questions in the club around how we'll fill all of the extra seats in the North Stand.

We struggle to sell out against every club barring the top 6-8 already.

So where will the fans come from? Especially if people are priced out / losing their passion and voice.

I've seen some good ideas in this thread and the suggestions around rebuilding our family feel and community is an essential element. There seems to be a huge disconnect at the moment.

Are the extra couple of mill we chase for the balance sheet essential?

I would add that I'm not in danger of being priced out in the near future. However, the price of everything in general does make me wince.

Also, many of the empty seats are older fans who "don't fancy it" today due to rain/cold, I know plenty of these season ticket holders, so suggesting the fans won't be there is a big stretch, City will have plenty of data to support building new infrastructure. Want to be the best? Got to match Madrid minimum.

So when you say they "do NOT give a shit about any of us". Did they tell you this?

And when you say "they have completely alienated local support", have you surveyed locals fans to confirm that this is their view also?

I appreciate you are angry, as many are, but you can't just make generalised assumptions to back up your views.

Despite what any of us think, football has long long since been a local working class game watched by local people. It's a global financial behemoth ran by business people who want to maximise revenues at all costs.

Our owners have been substantially better than 90% of other large clubs out there regardless of what we believe as fans.

The world at large has changed, we are being fleeced from every angle without any real intervention from regulatorary bodies. Airlines, trains, energy suppliers, insurance companies, retailers, HMRC, you name it, they are doing us over a barrel. The world has gone mad and football reflects that in the same way other industries do.

I don't want concert fucking halls and a display cabinet full of clubs I have never heard of, I don't want Jamie Oliver pies or a PA system that would drown out a jet engine operated by a mob of what appears to be children's TV presenters.

I want to watch the football, being anything like Real Madrid should be avoided at all costs.

You can't say he's generalising then claim our owners are better than 90% of other owners out there mate. Maximising revenue if it affects your match day experience is very much something you should moan like fuck about.

His proof is the cost of football, and the argument that just because other people get ripped off in other walks of life it doesn't mean you shouldn't complain about it in this instance.

I am similar - been match going for 40 years but genuinely have better things to do these days. Think my last year of season ticket. Midweeks and getting home at 11 are a thing of the past.

The price of individual match day tickets are great for the clubs money men in the short term but absolutely fucking terrible for the supporters who have been or will be priced out.
As lots have said where will the club be once the legacy fans have stopped going ( yes I know most of us are season ticket holders ).
Those of us who have season tickets are the lucky ones but it shouldn't stop us sympathising with the fans who have to pay the fucking ludicrous prices on a match by match basis.
I know that I'm exactly the type of supporter the club don't actually want as I don't buy stuff from the club shop or indeed buy food and drink in the ground.
I know the club has moved on from where we were many moons ago and that's great in footballing terms but without our support when we were at our lowest ebb the club most probably wouldn't have survived and the club's hierarchy must never forget that.
Also although the club is now one of the richest clubs in the world..our fan base are mostly not particularly wealthy..we have lots of local fans who are either pensioners or younger fans with families.
The club need to make sure that we price games so that the next generation of fans can still afford to come to the games on a regular basis or they will find out that once the big name stars aren't here that the tourists will just fuck off to the next big thing and the ground will be nowhere near full.

You're harking after an era that no longer exists at an elite level. Plenty of just football with no nonsense pies/beer further down the pyramid (Stockport, Oldham, Bury, Rochdale etc).

I went into the souvenir shop yesterday after taking pictures of the North stand redevelopment.

I went into to have a look around, and to have a look at the January sale items.

The vast majority of people buying items were Hong Kongers, tourists, and foreign people. I was stood listening to numerous different languages being spoken.

I came out of the store empty handed. Not because I’m tight, but because even at the sale prices, I didn’t think the men’s clothing range was anything special or was value for money. I looked at the Monochrome jacket, which was basically a very thin windcheater jacket, which was £90!, reduced to £63.
