The big question then is why Pep was so keen to keep him in the squad.
Agreed. With hindsight, it does seem odd.

Maybe he does see a player that could develop, but hasn’t seen him develop in training?

Anyway, I’ve said my piece. I’ll leave it to others to debate.

He was shite for Sheff U. Scored one in 10 and was dropped a lot.

Somehow he’s going to be a player in our side? Give over.

When did he last win a game for anyone?
This guy came on against Feyenord when we were 3 nil up and we ended up drawing that game. That was a great opportunity for him to lock that place down but he blew it.
Somehow, some fans on Bluemoon thinks they are better than Pep just because we are having a bad season.

No we don’t. What a shallow comment. We’re proffering opinions on a football forum.

Nobody in their right mind claims to be better than Pep. Just as nobody in their right mind would deny he’s fallible and struggling at present.

We were leading against rags too.
We were leading against Everton too.
We have dropped points left right centre. Yes McAtee was responsible for all of it.
If one game is all it takes to drop a player then god bless.

Yep Joško Gvardiol and Edderson suddenly lost their minds and of course McAtee was responsible for them!

All it will take for McAtee to get his chance is the back of Pep.

We want Swales back, I say we want Swales back.

He blew it? FFS...

Don’t blame him one bit for wanting to leave. He’s been mistreated by Pep, which is something some people don’t want to hear.

If you’re him you’ve got to be thinking, fuck this place I’m off.

If he does leave I wish him all the success in the world.

Good fucking Riddance then!

Anyone who thinks Guardiola has given this lad an opportunity and treated him fairly is living in cloud cuckoo land.

Pep is brilliant at many things but his management of Palmer and now McAtee has been little short of a disgrace.

If this was another manager at another club you'd all be taking the piss and foaming at the mouth and you know it.

LOL

Palmer got tons of chances.. maybe not as many as he hoped but he got chances. His own injuries and lack of versatility got in the way.

There's 2 ways to get into a Pep team.. either be the best in the world at your position or be versatile enough to play multiple positions.

Cole is a 1 position player and there were better players ahead of him while he was here!

You are full of anger and your posts are a bit unhinged, I think you need to step away from the internet for a bit.

Did I lie?? No I spoke facts.. Cole got his chances.

And I will defend Pep no matter what. The guy has given me more joy and happiness than I could have ever hoped for.. I'm not crying one bit about what could have been with some other players.

Give the man his due instead of "feeling for some kid that lost a 3-0 lead at home with 15 minutes to go"

What an absolute shit take...
Rewatch how Pep was in his interview post match. It was like he’d seen a ghost. He was spooked beyond belief. That will have scarred him and hence why I believe McAtee is done here.
So are we saying Pep has become a weak minded marshmallow who can't tell the difference between someone fucking up a match and someone being a victim of circumstance. If watching Walker, Gundo and some others recently hasn't scarred him not much will.

Pep has treated McAtee like a complete POS IMO. No amount of "Pep is never wrong" BS is going to change my opinion...

lol ok.

I’ll watch you vent your spleen after every match that McAtee sits on bench and never comes on. I’ve made my peace with it.

Enjoy his run out against Salford. (If he’s still here)

I remember that.. infact everyone was saying we're worried Pep is losing it.. he's hurting himself with that scratched up nose and marks on his scalp.

But when a door closes for 1 player.. it means it opens for another one down the line.. someone else will benefit here long term.. & we'll know who & why that player got that opportunity!

I have to caveat that I loved watching McAtee in the youth teams. He was special and ran games. I thought he was going to the top, but you never know how players adapt to the men’s version.

He still may, but I can’t see it being with us as he hasn’t shown any of us that he’s good enough, either with Sheff U or the limited time he’s had with our senior team.

He looked better in his couple of cameos before he went on loan than he has on his return.
