I don't need to as it wasn't a mistake. As I keep saying Chelsea didn't drop the ball either with talent they already had at their disposal. He won't.

I wouldn't call it an argument. More of disagreement.Theres a cole palmer thread in general if you two are having this argument again
Drogba scored plenty before he made the switch to Chelsea.
Yep. So just because you understood what I wrote initially about clubs identifying talent also applies to Palmer, it doesn't take away from the point about Delap. Which was the one I made. On the Liam Delap thread. So maybe instead of just reiterating your position that others might disagree, maybe start elaborating a little bit. Or at least answer people on what they actually writeYou've mentioned it.
This is is first breakout season and it still not outstanding. Useful but not title winning standard. No He had two seasons where he scored "plenty" and he was already older than Delap.
Delap looks on course to hit around 1 in 2 at the end of season.
Chelsea's intial recruitment happened to be scattergun rather than designed and they struck lucky with the way Palmer's transfer panned out. It could have easily ended up the same as his City career went.Yep. I have told him repeatedly that this is about Liam Delap. And also that he is in no position knowing what Chelsea wants or needsTheres a cole palmer thread in general if you two are having this argument again
Haaland trumps the lot but he is a little exceptional more than the rule.No He had two seasons where he scored "plenty" and he was already older than Delap.

Delap could easily stall his career if he ends up with a top 4 club.I have told him repeatedly that this is about Liam Delap. And also that he is in no position knowing what Chelsea wants or needs
Yes. This is true for most players. Very few are guaranteed to be a success. Those are usually a lot more expensive. But that doesn't change the fact that said top 4 club will have evaluated him and bought him for a reason. Clubs monitor other clubs players down to youth level. In Liam Delaps case they now have about 19 games in the Premier League to judge him on where he has also delivered in terms of numbersDelap could easily stall his career if he ends up with a top 4 club.
A huge step to expect him to really thrive at a top club. Chelsea need more of an Isak or even a Haaland than a Delap and that is not a slight on the latter's ability. Even a return to City wouldn't be the wisest of career choices either.Yes. This is true for most players. Very few are guaranteed to be a success. Those are usually a lot more expensive. It is a opinion less of the insults. Are you Alan Carr's dad? It's possible you might be wrong and not be as clued up as a scouting and technical team that have built a young promising team and also inflated the values of all academy players they sell on?
That is fine, and I am not saying that any young player isn't a risk. But the point is that it is well and good saying they need an Isak or a Haaland but those player might not be available for them. They then have to invest in who they decide can reach those levels.A huge step to expect him to really thrive at a top club. Delap for all his efforts this season will still struggle at a bigger club at the minute. He could have Kane or Palmer style rise in his career where he does hit 20 goals a season but that still takes a huge slice of fortune for that to really happen. It is a huge step from being in a relegation scrap to becoming their main man. That is fine, and I am not saying that any young player isn't a risk. That doesn't mean it will work. United has spent a fortune on their team but still has a young Dane that are currently looking awful for them starting every match as a number 9, with only a handfull of goals in the Serie A to go by in terms of what he has proven before they signed. Because they can't get their hands on anyone else. Liverpool have an 80 million pound striker on the bench from Benfica. Players are so much more expensive now that you either get the one great opportunisty to sign someone world-class, like we did with Haaland or Bayern did with Kane. Or you have to spend (slighly) less at someone you think you can build to be what you need
Are you Alan Carr's dad?Where is the insult?
