Some players have lost the hunger and have become entitled. It happens. We thank them and move them on.The reason we kept the ball was Ballon DOr winner and unbeaten in 74 matches Rodri. He was worth 2 goals a game, preventing at least 1 breaking up the opposition or maintaining possession and thus preventing counterattacks as well as being instrumental in the build up play for at least 1. There were other problems in the team, aging players, too small a squad etc., which his absence exposed. However he was the most important piece in Pep ball and without him confidence has dropped throughout the team. I think Pep will solve this, 2 transfer windows and Rodri back.
How many of them did he have to save?Despite West Ham’s 17 shots
There’s no midfield. Therefore it’s just constant attacks straight through the middle of the teamMuch better result than performance
Our defence is all mess
Defence is a mess cos our midfield is awfulMuch better result than performance
Our defence is all mess
You're correct Eccles, I've only got 64 years in and I still have much to learn. 8>)I know, it really takes more than 66 yrs of playing, watching and supporting football to know anything about it. ;-) :-)
Only because West Ham couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo. Very concerning that they have 17 attempts. How many of them did he have to save?
So my point stands.Only because West Ham couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo. Very concerning that they have 17 attempts.
No midfield, and defence is a mess! There’s no midfield. Therefore it’s just constant attacks straight through the middle of the team
Fanny wipe (pep...not you!)4-1 West Ham
Manchester City
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Sky Sports: “We won a game, still we are not at our best but winning will help us. We had good moments but I’ve been here eight years and we have seen the team playing and it is not at our standards. Still we have to find our tempo and the way we want to play. West Ham played good and had chances.
On Savinho: “He made a lucky goal and made a good action after. The third goal was brilliant with the assist. He is delivering really well."
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "No [we are not back in the groove]. It is happier to win but we are still not like we were for different reasons. The result will help. We struggle but it is a release."
On Savinho: "He was brilliant. He is one of the few that is fresh. There were glimpses of brilliance. The work ethic was unbelievable but still not the composure. We accelerate everything. We have struggled with results recently but the last two victories is good and we did not lose for three. I would say a month and half [of poor form] compared with eight years is not bad."
On having the clinical touch: "Absolutely. We were lucky with the first goal, they were better in the first minutes we could have gone zero one or zero two. The second goal helped us, it was an incredible goal but we are still not like we were."
There is two i think for sure who are over the hard work needed in this team , the rest are injuriesLove pep’s presser.
Clearly digging out the players but not naming them.
He knows we are nowhere near our level.
Players think they are owed something because of past achievements. You see this all the time in any work environment. People think they are untouchable but the truth is most can be replaced by another capable player.
The squad needs a shake up and those players that can’t or won’t do it will need to leave.
Feel confident the boss knows who should be moved on.
Of course we are bloody grateful for everything they have done in a city shirt. Football doesn’t stop and they all got well paid. You have to go again and sadly many don’t want to.
My badSo my point stands.
