Glad Bowen wasn’t playing…

A win is a win. Plenty of positives (mainly Savinho, Kovacic and Haaland) to be taken from it. A few bad points but that’s to be expected.

I’m just glad we saw some quick, incisive, attacking football and we actually used Haaland in all areas of the build up.

Lol "early signings"??? Don't you mean long drawn out, back and forwards, protracted sagas? Before we sign the third choice or "walk away", "dodging a bullet" in the process.
I hope not. Big reason we are in a mess.

Something needs to change but maybe won’t until txiki departs?

Sometimes as fans we expect/demand signings which comes across as unrealistic but this drop off from the squad is not going to change until we change players.

I don’t like how slow we react in the market. Information missing as to why?

The last few seasons we have behaved like a small club. Expectations not met.

The club needs to decide who it is and what it wants to achieve going forward. Winning titles again or scrapping for a european place. Let the fans know so we can revise expectations.

A good win with lots of goals.
Sloppy though.
Most of the hammers good work and chances today started with our sloppiness.
We switched off at 4-0 by not doing the basics and not working hard enough.
Unfortunately that’s the position we’re in right now.
We need battle and scrap our way out of this current run of form.
Another win so I’m happy enough.

And long may we continue to enjoy flattering wins !
How did you think the game was going to go ? Play shit and lose 3-1 ? Play scrappily and win 4-1 or play brilliantly and win 6-0 ? I suggest that we all thought before ko it was going to be a dodgy performance but with luck and a bit of skill here and there, we might get the 3 points.
I didn't think anything. You can't with City ATM.. Like every blue I was happy with another win, but the win shouldn't mask the overall performance. Pep called the overall performance out after the match. If Pep can see it, I hope you can?

4-1 West Ham

Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We know it has been a tough season but I think today was an improvement from the last game. Physically we are starting to get better so with playing games and winning we hopefully get some confidence and it will get better."

On Savinho: "I think the talent is really there. He started really well this season and then went a bit down like the whole team which is normal. But he has exceptional qualities so it is good he has confidence and makes the difference for us."

On Erling Haaland: "He will always score goals. If we create chances he will score goals and even with the bad period being at 20 goals at this stage of the season is exceptional."

An improvent on Leicester, but we allowed it to become a basketball game.

However Ortega only had one save to make all game.

A bit more rhythm and good fitness into KdB,Nat & Phil.

Progress !!

Yeah our squad is shit mate, full of 3rd choice signings.
How we've been the most dominant club in this country for the past 5 years is a mystery. WE should have signed guys like Maguire and Fred instead

The least convincing 4-1 City win since Ewood Park 25 years ago.
Funny but completely disagree. We really weren't that bad. We had some pretty crap passages of play, however, there were lots of positives in the performance. Things aren't just going to switch back to championship winning performances overnight

The win is great.

Savio and erling link up is great.

That’s it tho. The rest was piss poor and of very low standard.

We don’t pass easily, we gave the ball away and we have no legs to recover.

As pep said, we have never been a transition team but we used to keep the ball for fun and have teams tied up in knots.

So much work to do. This is not the city we know.

A win is a win and that is all that matters today.

Problems? We have a lot.

Early signings would be great.
The reason we kept the ball was Ballon DOr winner and unbeaten in 74 matches Rodri. He was worth 2 goals a game, preventing at least 1 breaking up the opposition or maintaining possession and thus preventing counterattacks as well as being instrumental in the build up play for at least 1. There were other problems in the team, aging players, too small a squad etc., which his absence exposed. However he was the most important piece in Pep ball and without him confidence has dropped throughout the team. I think Pep will solve this, 2 transfer windows and Rodri back.

Wasn't great Silva Savino and Haaland won us the game! Without the ball an abomination! Pep wants us to keep the ball make a million passes be calm! It still won't stop the 4/5 transitions a game !

Getting a new DM isn't going to magically change things. Without some support from the rest of midfield and a fit defence, we'll still be porous. Even Rodri would struggle in the current set-up.
Yes but it would be much better than at present. Accordimg to Opta We lost possession 60 times today! 39 times in the middle third of the pitch. 21 times in the defensive half. With a reasonably good DM we cut that considerably which means more possession and opposition don't have the ball so can't create much. Our possession stats go up and we give ourselves huge opportunity in the Forward Line. If we could get a very good DM this window it would be huge. With Bobb coming back the possession gets even better. We need more security in Defence also.

We were really poor today overall, Although we had some really good moves and passages of play especially for Haaland 1st goal it was a very good move.

West Ham had numerous chances and thankfully didn't take them just as Leicester failed to do so last Saturday so take it whilst we can, Other weeks teams get two shots and score two goals against us.

Hopefully wins gains confidence, We'll need plenty of confidence going into late January and February as the fixtures are incredibly tough.

Players needed in January big time.

Love pep’s presser.

Clearly digging out the players but not naming them.

He knows we are nowhere near our level.

Players think they are owed something because of past achievements. You see this all the time in any work environment. People think they are untouchable but the truth is most can be replaced by another capable player.

The squad needs a shake up and those players that can’t or won’t do it will need to leave.

Feel confident the boss knows who should be moved on.

Of course we are bloody grateful for everything they have done in a city shirt. Football doesn’t stop and they all got well paid. You have to go again and sadly some don’t want to.
