Came with the express intention of adding to the sole trophy he had won with QPR and will likely leave having added 17 more. Impressive. And to think Spurs fans decried him for moving solely for the money.

May never merit a statue, but if he does, it might be prudent to have one of these printed.

Amazing player for us since joining. Past 18 months aside.

Success we’ve had couldn’t have been achieved without him.

Glad he’s going, shame it wasn’t earlier but there we are. Hope he finds success elsewhere and earns a big pay cheque!

I presume he's asked to leave because he knows he's done and every game extra he plays just saints his legacy. He's seemingly had the grace to accept that he's done and not drag things out and that should be commended. I said just a few days ago this is what should happen but I really didn't think it would. He'll leave as both our and the premier league's greatest ever right back and should get nothing but the thanks and respect that accolade deserves.

I suspect he’s leaving partly because of the abuse he’s been getting from the fans. Once that happens you know your time is up. Why not cash in with a move abroad. He owes us nothing, given what he’s helped us win.and I wish him well.
Sorry but this is bollocks. The "abuse" is nothing more than lunatics on social media which exist all the time and theb some forum unhappiness which he'll never even see. A few groans at big mistakes is the worst he gets on the actual pitch. He's not some hate figure, look at the reaction zirkzee got for the rags the other week, that's having the fans turn on you properly, walker has never had a fraction of that.

Yes, he's been brilliant for us- I 100% agree. I just don't think he'll be looked back on as a club legend, just a very good ex-player
He will be in an awful lot of City best ever elevens. He's won it all at City and was a valuable member of the treble winning team, the domestic treble winning team, winner of 6 Premeir leagues, countless League Cups, 2 FA cups, a club and super cup winner. I think that qualifies him as a legend of this club.

Shameful how some of our fans have treated him over the last 18 months or so.

Have to respect that he has done the right thing for him and the club. He is obviously unable to compete at this level anymore and he has been honest with the club...you can't ask more than that.

Best right back of the Premier League era and should leave with the fans singing his name as he has been fantastic for us

He should be in every City best 11 at his position. His highlight reel for us would be a great watch.
