For me, if it isn't on the beeb,itv,sky it probably hasn't happened. The rest of it, youtube, fb, talksport etc are not held to account for their bullshit

I’m getting increasingly concerned about utube channels which just make stuff up but pretend they are real by adding false quotes and attributions from well known sources.
“Confirmed by Pep, City signing Messi” and such like. Last summer one of these channels had a “report” of Dani Olmo’s medical at City which was complete fiction.
Today utube carries a story that Salford staff physically attacked City staff after the match. Did this happen? No reputable source has it. But the utube channel says City issued a statement. Where, I ask?

I've seen a few of these on Facebook. One was obviously made up quotes by Grealish about his lack of game time. If he'd actually said that it would have been all over the news.

Any of that, I just block the site straight away. I know I won't be missing anything.

I can't help feeling there's a misjudgement here that, if anything, undermines any positive effects the BBC think this sort of programming has.

After all, whilst this saturation nostalgia may appeal to 40 somethings at mediacity, I can't see that it would have any appeal whatsoever to a younger person, particularly someone who has reached a mature appreciation for football over the last 15 years or so.

If I was in my early 30s or younger I wouldn't be remotely interested in what last happened when I was 15. Indeed, it would just convince me that their best years were long behind them.

I don’t have a problem with media companies taking the piss out of City. Every club gets their fare share of that. But what don’t Iike is down right lies, just to take the piss. What is noticeable, is that such adverts have become a lot more prevalent over the last few years, and more companies are doing it, either via a down right lie, or in a subtle, but untruthful manner. Sadly it’s become the norm.
