Like a moth to a flame.

In the current circumstances of aging midfielders, an injury crisis and a real lack of running power in midfield, the fantasy football fans want to turn the match into a basketball game. They must have sold the City defenders from their fantasy teams. And btw I hope you don't have any fucking rag cunts in your fantasy teams, you've got to be better than that.

Graeme Souness an average manager 25 years ago or Pep Guardiola? Hmmm, whose judgement am I going to back?

And what did Souness win as a manager by releasing the ball quickly? Have you forgotten already what MCFC with Jack Grealish featuring have won?
Your fanboy obsession with Grealish is getting ridiculous now.

Souness is one of the most respected pundits because he knows the game and talks sense. He may not have done much as a manager but he was a top player, Guardiola wasn't as good a player.

Whether or not he's a good good cam be argued about, but the guy gets kicked to death. Feel like Eden Hazard used to similarly get accused of going to ground too easily when the truth was he was just fouled a lot.
He plays to get kicked that's the issue.

Sometimes good in a tight game it can buy you time but in many games it's an irritating habit.

Both can be true, Grealish does get fouled a lot, he also goes to ground far too easily

Given your comment replied to a comment mentioning the 4th title in a row and used the word 'sycophant' in relation to anyone who was supportive of 2 of the other squad members, I think its perfectly valid to ask if you appreciate the significance of winning 4 titles in a row.
I do, but I don’t ascribe it to the performances of any particular player, just because they were in the squad.

When someone is one of 20+ squad members of a team that won something, I don’t automatically ascribe individual greatness to them. By those measures, Scott Carson is a fucking awesome keeper!

Brilliant video! :-D

Grealish’s stock in trade has become running with the ball and if being chased, or challenged, he simply cuts across their natural path, creates the contact, and flops for the foul. Not every time, but enough that many refs ignore it now.

There is an even better one on twitter, it's a compilation of his time at Villa, he runs down the left wing, beats the FB with ease and could go on and create but what did Jack do, deliberately fall over the FB trailing leg to win a cheap free kick.

What a waste of talent!

I think we could really do without some of the useless stats in modern football. Since the introduction of stats like most fouls received, more and more footballers are now more interested in being fouled, apparently these days being fouled is a metric that's used to evaluate how dangerous a player is. An absolute trash stat that came from the era when Barcelona and Madrid where all trying to drown the entire football world in their "My player (Messi) is better than your player (Ronaldo)" drama, and don't even get me started on that completely useless "pre-assist" stat.

He of course needs to do better, and be closer to his treble winning form.

Pep mentioned this.

And if he can't show that this season, then he should be gone in the summer.

But... if that sparked something in him to regain his form, there is a player there to keep.

He can be elite at making chances, even if his goal scoring is poor.

XG what the **** does this indicate?

The most ridiculous stat in history.

I don't know if this is right or wrong, but for me personally the amount of credit a player gets in the bank is helped by their actions off the pitch.

Whether he's good enough to play for City going forwards, maybe, maybe not, but I am thankful for his contributions and will always remember the amount of time and respect he's had for the fans during his time here.

It tells you a lot about the man that he has always been the first person to give a few minutes to kids and families and often gone out off his way to basically be a decent and respectful human being.

Which is more than can be said for a lot of other footballers.

So while it might be naive and illogical I am willing to give him a bit of extra leeway when it comes to his on the pitch performances. But football is an emotional and illogical pastime, which is why we are all on here and all love it as much as we do.

dont think Pep is seriously thinking of giving him a chance centrally. we tried due to down to bare bones 1-2 games, Forest game it kind of worked, then Juventus game it was horrible, now KDB back, Foden may pick up some form, even now McAtee was favoured for the Foden sub instead of Grealish, I think this try Grealish thing centrally ran its course.

now the schedule is getting spicy, for him to get a place in the starter and keeping it is very unlikely unless some kind of form is delivered alongside end product. otherwise very hard to keep Doku ad Savinho out. and then I expect Marmoush to be played off the wing a bit.

competition is big for Grealish now, how he reacts to it is gonna decide his fate. he needs to be as upset as he was when not selected to the Euros and work his ass off in trainings putting in extra hours for shooting practice, crosses beating a defender etc. up to him...

If Pep won’t bring him on in a game like last night, when we were crying out for someone to get hold of the ball and take the sting out of the game, then it doesn’t look too good for him.

Yeah. If we’d been behind last night Doku would have come on before him. So for him not to come on last night with us hanging on it does not look good for him here at all.

All the Graeme Souness's on this thread mocking the winning of free kicks a few hours before winning free kicks was exactly what was required!!! - could you please refrain from posting such thoughts just a few hours prior to a match as I think you're jinxing things. It's why Souness has spent 15 years in a tv studio because if your ideas don't translate to the touchline, that's where you end up.

Retaining possession high up the pitch so, so important for both attacking and defending. Disrupting the opponents rhythm and breaking up play so key in seeing games out. I've no idea what some of you have been watching for the last few years but City built as a possession based team need to keep possession high up the pitch for defensive purposes.

And given the squad wasn't built primarily with speed and physicality in mind, the team isn't suited to playing hot potato football.

Hang on a ding dong second, I will have you know that there is no jinxing going on from my side, all the toilet seats were down and all the knifes and forks pointing south.
Grealish is shite
