Motson was tame by the standsrds of today’s partisan commentators who are allowed to show their contempt for any other club than the one they support. The media, newspapers and tv broadcasters, are the main culprits for causing the anger between supporters of different clubs. It is a deliberate ploy to raise clicks and calls to their sites. I turn the sound down to watch a match on tv rather than listen to their bigoted commentary, which is a shame as you dont get the crowd noise either, which does enhance watching a game on tv.
Play the commentary from City’s website and pause the telly for a few seconds until it synchs with the commentary.

Alistair Mann and Michael Brown with a slightly City centric but not absurdly biased commentary. No shoehorned in clueless female co comm, no sly digs, no advertising 300 upcoming games twice every half - just a match focused commentary.

another attempt to finally rid premier league of pep

clear and organised
I can't ever remember any manager's marriage breakdown getting any coverage from the press in this country. Lots of kiss and tell stories about players of course. And of course there was Tommy Doherty and Mary Brown but that was news because he lost his job over it. But many managers have been divorced and it has generally been off limits.

BBC jumped on the bandwagon.
I have to say that that piece is quite fair from both Guillem Balague & even Simon Stone (yes, really). There's nothing negative in it as far as I'm concerned and certainly no reason to get worked up over it.

Now the Mail(?) headline which says Pep was fuming at Gvardiol and Ortega at the end of the match is so poor it beggars belief.

Don’t let time fade your judgement. Motson was a sycophantic ****. Absolutely despised him.

I can't recall any other managers private life being kept as a top story for days on end?

Other PL managers have engaged in alleged nefarious activity off the field and fuck all from the media. I'm looking at you Mr Wenger.

I seem to recall a certain Mr. Ericsson being in the public spotlight quite frequently.

Yes and very listenable too, just the slightly out of sync with the TV. I always watch any of the broadcast channels with the sound firmly Off.

Don't be fooled. Stone would have relished penning every single word of that. Put it in the news. Schadenfreude at its finest. A real shame that a journalist as good as Balague is associated with the slimy one in this piece.

100% this.

The OS commentary is always decent. Usually Alli Mann with an ex City player on Co-comms - Michael Brown, Andy Morrison, David White and a few others. I think Kit Symons has been on there once or twice.

Can't fault it.
