Running thread

Parkrun absolutely scuppered tomorrow.
Nowhere really within the North West seems to be on. I guess I’ll have to go out and do my own 5K run. Think fields might be a better option than roads; hopefully the freezing temps will at least reduce the squelch factor. At least I can have a lie in for once and do it at 10am or 11am instead :-)

On Saturday I ran on trails and fields in the snow. It was brilliant.

Think I'm sidelined for a while. Taken to A&E with chest pains, they've ruled out heart issues, checking for clot on the lung but it looks like pneumonia. Been in A&E for 8 hours and counting
Oh dear, this is not good. Get well soon ob.

Pneumonia mate, no clot found cheers. Starting to feel there's a curse mate. Our flat flooded (twice) between Christmas and New Year. Had to move into hotel for about 12 nights as plumber couldn't source a new tank due to everywhere being shut or not getting deliveries due to holidays. Have had tank replaced moved back in and had guy round yesterday looking at hall floor as it all needs to be lifted and replaced due to water damage

Get well soon!
I was hospitalised twice back in 2011 with pneumonia and it really knocked the stuffing out of me.
Takes a fair few months to recover from, but accept any medication they offer you, and eat as much as you like to rebuild your strength!

No clot is a start mate, your lucks got to change at some point, hopefully the pneumonia part will be ok.
Have to say mate I admire the way you keep on trucking when it seems all is falling down around you(literally by the sounds of your flat!!) fair play to you, keep on trucking and I'm sure your luck will turn around, it simply has to as your running out of things that can go wrong!!

Best wishes for a full and quick recovery mate.

How are you today mate? Have they kept you in with the pneumonia? What's the prognosis? Please do let us know on here if there's anything any of us can do to help,

Cheers mate, home with antibiotics and told to rest (think there were no beds). When I arrived in A&E they didn't even have a chair for me to sit in. Pain eased a little and no energy. Smallest tasks such as getting washed etc just leaving me breathless so just relaxing, reading, watching crap on TV and sleeping. Just keep me inspired by everyone's runs.

Take it mega easy then mate, easier said than done I know, but a chance to put your feet up and do shite all doesn't come along very often!!

Marathon training off to a slow start, managed 12km yesterday.

Concerned however with a sharp pain just below my right kneecap every time I take a step.... limited confidence I can complete said marathon (Manchester, April) to be honest!
