Club World Cup - Summer 2025

I was in the US at Christmas. Transferred some funds to my UK Chase account for card payments and paid no additional fees and charges.
Do you mean you paid no charges when paying for things? I have a Starling card so I’m just wondering if I load it up with money, is it best to withdraw cash (do I get charged at an ATM?) or pay contactless with it (pay a fee?)

I didn’t pay cash for anything, I only paid by card. I’m not seeing any transaction fees or charges on my statement. Likely this is because it’s a US bank. I suspect that if you draw cash with your card you might pay exchange rate plus fees

Question for American cousins, it’s a while since I’ve been to USA, obviously cash is king to buy food etc, unlike the uk it seems if I use my debit card I’ll get a surcharge! Also if I withdraw cash from an ATM I get charged, so what’s the best way to get and pay for things I don’t want to be carrying huge amounts of cash around or leaving it in my hotel room. Also what’s the score with tipping I’ve seen people saying 18-25% which is fucking outrageous unless it’s a sit down meal.
I don’t have any charges on a debit card.

Best thing to do is come over with a set amount of cash in US dollars. Go to any supermarket and you can buy a cash loaded Visa debit card to use on your travels.
It may have a one off set up fee of something like $5 or $10 at the most but you can use it for everything and if you need more you can top it up with your own credit card. If you want cash, don’t use an ATM but buy something from a supermarket and get cash back.

As for tipping, they get what they are given with me. You will be traveling around and most likely not returning to these places so being called a tight twat on your way out shouldn’t bother you!

Edit: You can use the cash loaded debit card for everything apart from using it to hire a car. You need a proper credit card to hire a car as they hold a charge against your credit card in case of damage etc.

Hi - I got into a River league game no problem by signing up as an international member and then just buying a ticket. Boca you have no choice but to go via an agency as there is something like a 10 year waiting list for tickets. By Argentinian standards it's pricey but the one I used had us all meet for pizza and beers beforehand, bussed us to the ground and back etc. I'm not sure about whether the ultra sections (effectively the end behind both goals) are locals only. I suspect they may be season ticket holders only. TBH I only tried for tickets on the side so I could watch the mayhem rather than be part of it. Pre-match is a problem as there is no alcohol allowed within a certain distance of the stadium (I think 1 km but may be wrong) so it's not like going to Spain where you can stand on the corner at a bar with the locals and then stroll over. Atmosphere wise 80,000+ at River was amazing (although Echeverri was awful and was hooked at half time!), Boca was good but my favourites were probably Racing and Independiente. San Lorenzo was also good and the stadium is majestic but is so wide open that the songs don't resonate as much as the more enclosed grounds.
Thanks for info, really useful

Great advice, will do that, cheers.

Looking for some help from anyone who has purchased Lower Tier City Club tickets for the Juventus game.

I have purchased 2 such tickets, as separate transactions under my FIFA ID, for some reason I’m not getting the option to link these tickets as Friends or Family.

Ideally as this will my partners first experience of a match, I would like the tickets to be seated together.

I’m hoping someone can help me, by linking my 2 tickets to theirs using the Friends or Family link, by way of gratitude I will be happy to provide them with a couple beers at the game.

Had a FIFA email about the general sale that’s now open - some seats available $55. That’s cheaper than the designated fans section for the last 16 round.

I once got barred from a bar in Vegas for giving the bartender a dollar tip just for going to the fridge and opening a $10 bottle. You really do start to question who the cheeky **** is when giving out tips in the States which they aren’t happy with.

I’m all booked for my trip anyway. Fly to New York for a couple of days, train to philly which I’ll be spending three nights there, then flying to Atlanta for three nights. Flying back to New York for another couple of days before flying home. £750 on flights and about £1500 on hotels. Expensive trip but fuck it. If City somehow manage to turn their champions league form out and go all the way to Munich, I wonder if I’ll be saying “fuck it” then having to pay out another £1000 before flying out to the states a week later. Ah well, it’s only money.

They are cheaper because if u buy the knockout games through the City tickets portal , if we get knocked out before u get ur money back !, buy off the general ticket site and u bought a ticket for that match regardless of who is playing !

Me and my son have booked first 2 games using different access codes. Want to book for Juventus and last 16 tie but haven't received access codes. I've e mailed the club but no reply. Are they released later or how fo i get access codes again

It is one code per person. If you have booked some but not all tickets, the code becomes invalid if you return to buy again after the initial purchase.

Purchase via the general sale on fifa website.
All the games are on sale.

Am I right in saying if you book tickets for games after the group stage they only charge you a deposit now of $10 per game and not the total cost of the ticket

Are they close to the city section

Just a reminder re access codes, can only be used until 21st January.
Did you book the knock out rounds do they charge your card the full price or just the $10 and if we make the knock out rounds you are charged the remainder automatically
