But as i've said in this thread, he's done it knowing its going to the the talking point. there seems to be more people talking about Musk's salute than Trumps executive orders. and that is exactly why I think it was done.

I don't get the "Roman Salute" defence. It's not actually from Roman times; it was popularised by Italian fascists in the 1920s, so I don't see how claiming it was that makes things any better for him.

Its used in loads of Roman films / TV shows. most people that know it will know it from those.
 
I'm not sure Roman emperors used that thumbs up and down gesture either.
Or that Gladiators fought to the death.
Amazing how much cinema has created this false reality in all our heads.

I'm still checking whether the Death Star was feasible too....

An insight into the lengths he'll go to for what are ultimately, of little concern. Makes you think what lengths will he go to (or is he going to) for more serious issues
 
What a journey Musk fans have been on. Imagine being a geeky incel telling us all about his genius and how he's going to save the human race with his electric cars and Mars rockets, and then one day you wake up and you're having to convince everyone how the guy who just did a Nazi salute at a political rally isn't far right.
