Interesting that the best result Manchester City have had in the last 3 months was the 3-0 win vs Forest where Grealish started and played 90 mins before being subbed; in fact, the Forest result is the best result since the opening day of the season win at Chelsea.

It's also pretty staggering that this thread has jumped a number of pages on the back of Grealish coming on as a sub at 5-0 and then keeping the ball. With a 5-0 scoreline teams normally settle for the result with the victors looking to conserve energy and, as long as there isn't any bad blood, not humiliate their professional colleagues. This has been the case for the last 20 years so whilst fantasy football fans may be urging teams to fill their boots at 5-0, professional footballers aren't normally thinking that way.

And he was shit playing the same role against Juventus in a game we lost. So 1 arguably decent performance against Forest (IMO, De Bruyne was more influential in that game) and 1 poor one. Hardly strong evidence to back up the claims that Pep has been wasting him not playing him in the middle.

The rest weren't much better vs Juventus either and he should have started vs Palace before the Champions League game.

If that's how you class performances. you'd have to class every player as "shit" vs Juventus.

It's probably over, isn't it? Can't remember a player being frozen out like this who then made it back in and stayed long-term. Maybe Stones? Raheem managed another season after falling out with Pep a bit.

With Grealish it feels like it's going the way of Laporte, Cancelo, Torres, Angelino, Delph etc. Where Pep has spotted something he doesn't like and that's enough for him to know it's over, especially with the new signings.

Just don't really see where Jack fits in from next season. Doku and Bobb on one side, Savinho and Marmoush on the other. It's likely we'll move for a couple of CMs as well. Feels like his days are numbered for sure.

So we're back to the "we wouldn't have won the Treble without Grealish" type comments.

He's responsible for our wins but our defeats, his blame is minimised.

At least all this will be over soon when he's shipped out to wherever and underwhelms there in whatever position he's put in. Pep will probably still get some of the blame for wasting Grealish's best years or something along those lines.

Back to the hysterical, hyperbolic reactions on this thread.

It's a team game and no one player is solely responsible or to blame for wins or defeats.

Although it's still a fact that Grealish signed and the treble was won and 4 in a row clinched and you cannot guarantee that would be the case if the £100m was spent elsewhere.

He has contributed. Perhaps not what you expect as a £100m to produce but he has helped.

All I know is we signed Haaland, and in his first season, we won the Treble—and then went on to win 4 in a row in his second season and that is a fact.

That's also a fact - shame there's not more facts and less fiction on this thread. Could then have both Benitez and Souness on the thread.

The fact is Grealish has been poor to average most of the time here yet you keep coming on to big him up like he's world class. Even most of his fanboys have conceded he's a lost cause except you and a handful of others who refuse to acknowledge he's been a very poor signing, especially costing a British record 100m. And it's worth pointing out his fee because when we sell him we'll probably get low balled for 20-30m but we'll have to take whatever we can because he's 300k per week which will put most clubs off because he won't want to drop his weekly earnings, and that will be a problem when the time comes.

100m wasted and 300k per week to watch Grealish prance about like a show pony on fuckin' dope and little else . Still boring and predictable, unfit, mentally weak and uninterested in heeding what Pep has said about him.

Ah, but he keeps the ball, draws a foul, sells enough shirts to pay his wages and is always friendly with kids, especially disabled kids, so he's a nice guy. As a person I like Grealish but for me he's become the most frustrating City player in recent history and I'll be glad when he's sold.

But how do you really feel about him. Too much sitting on the fence in that post ;-)

You might want to look at our best results he has played no part in before you start preaching again and he barely contributed to title number four
