PSG (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

It’s a very disappointing result and a poor second half but 24 pages in and no mention of getting behind the lads for the Brugges game. No Wonder City Xtra or whatever they are called post stuff like this. They’ve got an audience for it.
Good post but at this stage we are better off with less games I think.

Front 4 get off too lightly. They amble around with hands on hips and run in the defensive direction at half the pace in which they travel in attack. If Guardiola allows one to play thus, the others naturally follow suit. That needs to change. None of them are that good that they don’t need to graft.
I thought I'd gone back to the 70's and my childhood. At times tonight PSG were in possession and we had 4 players on the halfway line, 2 out wide and 2 central. Usually after Ederson gave them the ball with a stupid pass into centre midfield. Very strange, I've no idea what we were trying to do.

Signing the incorrect one is just as bad. We still got over-run even with Rodri in the team.
You're right and our problems are much deeper than not having a DM.
Sure it'd help but right now we've too many passengers who don't want to work hard enough.
We need to start taking some pride in defending, that's from front to back.

Played well for 53 minutes and then a truly terrible collapse once again. Same issues in midfield and whatever combination Pep tries, the same happens. We just haven't got any physicality whatsoever without Rodri and KDB from 2-3 years ago.

KDB can't play at that intensity for 90 minutes every 3 days anymore, Kovacic can't play the lone 6 role, Bernardo is just a waste of a shirt at the moment, he just looks physically done and in need of a long rest. Gundo's legs are gone and anybody else we have is either inexperienced or not good enough. The Rodri shaped hole just gets bigger every week. The lack of physicality and leadership in midfield is so obvious.

I don’t think we should write off the Bruges games as some suggest.

This current team is not good enough to pick and choose its games. 2 play off matches (I think the format is) won’t make much difference.

At the same time the club need to address the dire lack of energy and on field leadership for the start of next season.

And we should never wear that dreadful kit again
Probably wear it against Bruges as it's the last time we'll wear it as the official CL kit.

My biggest concern is throwing away a two goal lead is no longer a surprise.
Kev ( our captain ) got hooked only for Bernardo to get the armband in the worst form of his life. Disappointed but no longer surprised. CTID
I’d hope Bernardo, and Lewis, aren’t anywhere near the starting line up against Chelsea at the weekend. Neither are strong or robust enough.

100% we have a lack of on pitch leadership. Losing leads like we've done in the last 6-8 weeks is absolutely a lack of a leader on the pitch. Piss poor.

Where are you getting this from? We’ve been turned over very easily the last few weeks by bang average sides in this competition. If Brugge fancy it they’ll fucking ruin us.
Brugge are also a very hang average side.

I think any decent side in Europe beats us quite easily

Simply Brugge aren’t a decent side

It might help if he is played in his best position instead of having to fill in all over the park. We have a young lad here that is actiully one of the few to show fight and bite with a bit of leadership thrown in and fans are pillorying him.

I’m yet to see him perform in any position. I just don’t see what Pep sees in him. I think in a few years I’ll be proved right.

Feel free to bookmark this.

It's a really fucking slim chance we win this cup anyway, but it'd be nice if we at least made a fist of it.

I'd be happy to fuck this back 4 off and play the new kids the way I'm feeling about our defence at the moment. Don't even want to get started on the midfield. Terrible stuff.
