Who do you want to decide on who lives and dies?
I'll send in my CV in the morning
Who do you want to decide on who lives and dies?
Who do you want to decide on who lives and dies?
They've got armed police in America. And more school shootings than anywhere else in the world...Maybe the answer is to give the armed police a litle more freedom when they arrive on a scene like this.
Killing a childI'm against Capital Punishment, always have been. Yet I'll admit that there are some cases that challenge that thought (in the heat of the moment....like today).
For those who are generally in favour can I ask one question?; which crimes and against who would you argue for it to be brought back for?
What about for those who plead guilty to murder?Well we wrongly hanged Timothy Evans, when a certain John Christie of 10 Rillington Place fame, was the murderer and unfortunately hanged Evans in 1949. It took until 1954 to send Christie through the same trapdoor, and he'd killed another 3 people.
Evans received a pardon his body was exhumed and buried on consecrated land, but the young lad still dropped through Mr Pierpoints trapdoor.
I'm not sure even with modern science techniques DNA etc, that a conviction is totally 100% correct, and there's still room for error.
As horrible as it is for an innocent person to be convicted of a crime they didn't commit and serve time for that crime.
At least there's a chance the conviction can be squashed down the line, the person released and compensated monetarilly for the misscarriage. Once through that trap door it is totally final.
I don't know.As much as I'd love to torture some of these maggots (and I'd also love to torture animal abusers, granny bashers, nonces and the like) it's not the way forward IMHO
Absolutely. That **** should hang today for what he did. These crimes especially crimes against children are absolutely horrific and he shouldn't be allowed another day breathing.
In cases like these where there is zero doubt they should bring it back.
If capital punishment was on the statutes no one would plead guilty simple as. The guy whose killed these young girls in Southport wouldn't have pleaded guilty he'd have pleaded insanity. What about for those who plead guilty to murder?
So you want to decide?I'll send in my CV in the morning
Ermm yes you haveNope, not really.
I was showing how drawn out and expensive it is to have a society that welcomes Capital Punishment, once an appeals process kicks in.
I'm about as far from a Pro Capital Punishment person as you could get to be honest.
Was simply showing that the "costs saved" for anyone wanting it are not as cheap as they think.
Singapore and Japan ? Clean, safe and with a life expectancy far above the UK.Look at the countries that have the death penalty
Not tell you something ?
And hopefully you would go to prison for lifeI don't know.
If someone killed one of my kids.
I would torture them worse than any person has ever been tortured.
So what. And hopefully you would go to prison for life
Not really, considering how many lifers actually spend 52 years in prison.Ermm yes you have
it costs £55,000 per prison per year.
Times that by 52 and add in 2% inflation and you get to £5 million quid in total. You said it costs a maximum of 3m dollars which comes out at £2.5m quid which would save the tax payer £2.5million. So a good option to save a lot of cash no?
What about in a situation like this. Not really, considering how many lifers actually spend 52 years in prison.
And regardless....capital punishment doesn't come cheap.
And are you in favour of it?
You are angry about something beyond your control, of course I feel deeply for the loss of the girls and for their families, it is horrific.Absolutely.
When there is no doubt he is guilty.
He should hang straight away .
Can you imagine what those girls parents are going through.
I'd rather die than suffer that
So what.
Do you have kids
