Is it a massive cock up by Pep not playing jack in midfield?

Considering the condition Bernardo is in and how much Pep forces him into the lineup, I'd say so. Jack has the work rate in the midfield that no one besides maybe de Bruyne can match at this moment. We're getting absolutely run through every game yet Pep continues to play midfielders who are gassed to shit for control which we have hardly had all season.

Massive? No, but I think pep is wrong. Somehow, he's seeing something off the pitch, or in training, which makes him not fancy him. Because make no mistake about it, Jack is pretty much being frozen out. Above all, I really don't see what Jack brings to the wing, apart from holding the ball pretty well (and sometimes drawing fouls). Is that enough for a winger? I wouldn't say so. Especially not now that you look at the young wingers we've got — and Bobb coming back in the not very distant future. Jack virtually never goes outside his man, because he simply doesn't have the change of pace. And he knows it. That's not new. Furthermore, Jack essentially played midfield for Villa. Ok, different team, different expectations, I get that. But that's where he's got a future in this team — if he has one.
If he goes, I think this is one of the cases where we really didn't get the best out of a player.

100% but if they take Grealish's deal on they are more than welcome to him.
Forget Spuds, they are one of the lowest payers in the league. Son is on about 190k per week, no way they'll pay Grealish that much, and I very much doubt Jack will sign for any club and lose 110k per week. His wage demands we I'll be a stumbling block to any permanent transfer.

As said they are desperate, Levy is under huge pressure, numerous injuries and a manager that looks lost, could not happen to a nicer club, karma for Daniel the utter cnut.

If we want to move Grealish on we are not in a good position to do that, huge wage/fee, I think we would be happy to cut our losses and move him on and to be fair the player needs a fresh start, London and Spursey may well suit him.
Or.....just consider this. Mad I know.
Give a technically very gifted player that has 9 times out of 10 played well for us, with a limited remit, a bit of a run and continue working with him, rather than give up, not play him how and where he'd obviously thrive, and then probably strengthen a "rival" team by selling him there. Grealish alongside Son? Look forward to that in our annual brain fart and their World Cup final.
Pep appears to have a bit of a vindictive streak with some personalities. But probably hailed as strong management.

Amazing that Marmoush came in to his first game with us and looked so smart, classy and pacey, looked completely at home after one game, Grealish has rarely looked like that and the longer he has stayed the less he contributes.

Time to cut our losses and if we do sign a DM and Cambiasso I could see him leaving on a loan before the end of the window, Spurs are desperate for players.
I thought it was quite telling how involved Marmoush got on the inside. He’s been here 5 mins and he’s making aggressive runs towards the opposition goal. Jack has been here years and we never see that from him.

Maybe Marmoush (and the fans) will get a nasty shock when Pep tells him he doesn’t want any of that attacking threat and he is to hug the touchline at all costs. If that happens, then I guess we will have the answer to that old burning Bluemoon question…Does Pep tell Jack to play that way?

I can’t see it myself and I think Jack is done here. His wages will be a problem but I think him wanting to go to the WC will go in our favour.

Just a little longer to settle then? ;)

Lol you reckon a treble winner and 3 timer hasn't. The thing is, even given his success - he could be used even better.
Your opinion, likeable character but as a player mehhhhh, already Marmoush's cameo is enough for me, Jack simply does not do enough and slows us down so much.

Do you really think Pep has told Grealish to hug the touchline at all costs?

He's told Grealish several times he needs to score more and get assists, and he can't do that from the touchline. Jack Grealish is a maverick and doesn’t suit our style of play. As soon as a suitable buyer comes in, he'll be sold.

Of course I don’t but you only have to go through the various Grealish threads, to see that many on here do believe that to be the case.

Facts. Grealish doesn't have it in his locker.

Pep gives players autonomy when they are in the final third.

He literally says he doesn't beleive that but others do

They are desperate but Grealish doesn’t solve their problems anyways
