Wasn't too fussed about us going through tonight really, because it just means more and more and more games. We're clearly not good enough to win the thing so we might as well focus on finishing 4th and going deep into the FA Cup.
But anything that helps England's coefficient benefits us at the end of the season, I suppose. We need that safety net of 5th to qualify for next season's European Cup ahead of the rebuild, so anything that boosts those numbers is fine by me.
Since when was there a booing culture at the Etihad
Who do you suggest then ?Yes and if we play akanji then may as well give up.
Truly terrible lately
Good grief.Really not arsed about tonight. The hyperbole will be insufferable but a fallow season isn’t too damaging if it means we focus on top 4.
I’ll just need to be sure to proofread more thoroughly in the future! Please do post again old blue :)
You weren’t at the Real Madrid 2023 semi final?Since when was there a booing culture at the Etihad
I’m not normally particularly arsed about the CL, but I really want us to progress tonight. The club/players need it.I couldn’t really care less about the champions league but I do want a positive result - we need to keep some momentum up after the strong performance at the weekend
I suppose the alternative view, though, is that managing to hang on for the point means winning today guarantees progression. Those two dropped points against Feyenoord are really annoying. 3 up going into the last 20 minutes; I don't care who the opposition are, you shouldn't be not winning. And let's be honest; the Dutch are a competent team, nothing more than that. They're not anywhere near Real Madrid, Barca, Inter, Juve and, yes, us (normally!). The fact that, in the end, we were holding on for a draw was farcical. If we had those extra those extra two points, a draw tonight might have been enough. Maybe.
What's more important is the players and Pep care a lot about the CL and to go out at this stage could have a real negative impact on our season. We're a team who thrive on the biggest stage and even though we've been terrible so far in the CL, i'd much rather we won tonight and take some positive momentum into the rest of the season.Really not arsed about tonight. The hyperbole will be insufferable but a fallow season isn’t too damaging if it means we focus on top 4.
And so do I, and most of the people going to the match tonight.Finding it really hard to get up for this one. I actually think it will be better for the team in the long run if we get knocked out. We don't need that play off game in between the run of fixtures we have coming up.
I know Pep and the lads will think differently.
That's the spirit.Yes and if we play akanji then may as well give up.
