He almost cost us the league against Spurs! And if you think he made the difference against United then your just flat out delusional.

A player that makes mistake after mistake yet makes zero effort to atone for those errors has lost a ton of my respect. You can’t blame fatigue either. Gvardiol has played more minutes and covers more ground. Yet when he was going through his blip, he was still sprinting as hard as he could to make up for those errors. Akanji constantly ambles back after a fuck up. You can call it one of two things, a lack of effort or just laziness.

So much negativity... Unable to see the good things and give credit.

Those who play constantly make mistakes. Those who sit on the bench or can't make the bench make fewer mistakes or are faultless.

Ake made mistakes last season, he was on the bench in the decisive games for the title. Why? Because he wasn't on form. Stones too. Stones was so bad in the FA Cup semi vs Chelsea that Pep had to sub him off at half time to save the game.

Akanji played because he was better in that period. And we won. Pep started Stones and Ake in the FA Cup final and they showed why they were on the bench in the final weeks. Dias and Akanji were the CB combo that won us the title. Yet, you are fixated only on Akanji's mistakes. Give your head a wobble.

If you seriously believe he should be playing then you need to give your head a wobble.

As just black and white facts any defender worth their salt should be winning more Ariel duels and defensive duels. Akanji has lost more than he’s won on both.

Dias, Ake and Stones have all won more than they’ve lost. If you can’t see that Akanji is part of the problem then you’re blinded by some sort of loyalty to him.

Are you talking to Pep, because he thinks Akanji should play?

We won the Treble and 4 in a row with Akanji playing more minutes than the other defenders and playing also when some of them were fit. If you can't understand what that implies, I can't help you. Good luck.

Yes I don't think Pep picks his team based on some internet stats.

Oh Pep loves him, no danger there, he also loves Lewis but he's found himself on the bench now, mistakes or being shite will lose your place eventually, but Pep is more loyal than most, but injuries are also playing a huge part in who starts especially at CB.

Akanji will be bench player at best when others are fit plus the new lads, I can see it now

The others were fit when Akanji played in the Treble season and the 4 in a row season.

The analogy with Lewis is confused, for Lewis didn't play in the final months of these seasons, rare occasions aside. Ake and Stones were fit in the last weeks of last season, Akanji started ahead of them. Pep wasn't 'loyal' to Lewis. He wasn't loyal to both Stones and Ake, even though he loves them. The loyal card is a weak argument to deny the obvious.

I actually agree the eye test is best.

I’ve seen him jog back constantly jog back into position after making errors leading to massive chances.

I adore Pep, but maybe his loyalty to certain players is why we are where we are at the minute?

You’ve made multiple points about him which have been counter argued, yet you just keep saying we won the treble and 4 in a row with him.

Do you think Gundo should be starting week in week out by that logic as he was part of the treble side? Or do you think Walker should have been playing week in week out this season because he was captain this season?

The obvious is the here and now, 2 new CB have come in, Stones (who Pep does love), and Dias is picked whenever he's fit, not sure what will happen with Ake in the end, but I'll stick to the here and now.

Shite argument really, as Grealish was also an integral part of the treble and 4 in a row etc etc, but look at him now.

You like Akanji I get it, but he will not be a first name on the sheet shortly, looks as fucked as Walker did

Only if you think we should judge Pep on the last 4 months and not the last 9 years.

So the amount I post has to do with how Akanji deserves to be playing at the minute?

Referring to that corker, look at the other posts around it. Pretty sure most people had the same feelings as me!

If you make 20 posts in 10 years and half of them are slagging off a treble-winner who's been playing through injury for weeks now then people are within their rights to call you out on it. Spread a bit of positivity and post on more topics, don't just drag the forum down with relentless negativity about one player.

Grealish wasn't an integral part of last season at all. Inventing facts is a shit way of arguing.

Absolutely not, I have never once said that! Your reply makes absolutely zero sense?

Do you seriously believe Akanji should be playing at the minute? Can you not see him bearly breaking into a jog after a mistake to get back into position?

He was part of the 4 in a row team you fucking numb twat.

Just fucking hold your hand up against counter arguments you clown
He can’t. I’ve replied with numerous counter arguments with no reply to them.

You’ll just end up getting “he’s a treble winner” or “he played the run in of last season winning us 4 in a row”.

Doesn’t understand we need better for the here and now.

Am I not in my rights to call out a player for a lack of effort?
