Telegraph has an article about Kelly wanting to go to United but no deal could be agreed, despite numerous attempts. Hence the moaning about her treatment.

I don't understand the drop-off with the setup of the team under Taylor and something is not right, I was speaking to a big fan of the ladies' team and she was saying the whole setup is not right and 100% needs Big changes from top to bottom,

The club would've got pelters off the fans if they'd loaned or even sold her to the ragettes. She said she wanted the game time but turned down Brighton where that would've been a cert. Instead she's gone to Arsenal to sit behind a player who already starts for England ahead of her in the position she plays. Really smart thinking Chloe. Makes me wonder if we accepted the Arsenal loan offer just to make a mockery of the recent claims that she's been spouting on social media.

I think Arsenal said they'd pay her full wages and United didn't. Also, I think it looks like there was a coordinated attempt to flood the press with rumours to destabilise the situation and United put in a late official bid. Even if it's petty I'd happily let Arsenal have her rather then let them win with those snide tactics.

Here's one thing I took away from this article. I am a father of two girls, both athletes (different sports).

They are both extremely athletic and some of the better players in the area in which we live. My older one has received an international call up. The younger is too young for that but has played for select teams in international tournaments and is recognized as the top player at her position in the area by coaches. Not just her own but coaches of other teams. I say all this not to boast but to maybe give credence that I may, may, know what I am speaking about.

Taylor, in the article, mentions, "this tight ship." That is the problem. He runs a "tight ship" and I imagine he's very proud of it or he wouldn't mention it.

Managing, and coaching, women and girls is different than coaching men and boys. Males "feel good" if they are playing well. With females, it is really the opposite. If they "feel good" they play better. It's the way it is and this may be part of Taylor's problem with the City women's team.

This has only tangentially to do with Chloe Kelly but speaks more to his problem as a whole. Steph had issues with him, obviously Chloe did (this isn't about her form, etc). It appears other players who left possibly did as well.

It has become my opinion that Taylor's mindset of "tight ship," hard man or whatever turns the women off and he isn't able to get the best out of them. And yes, you can run a disciplined training session and still get the most out of female athletes. They just need to be treated slightly differently than males.

Long term injury, couldn’t get back in the team, wants to play so she can represent England (even though she can’t get a game for City!) and then proceeds to say the magic words designed to hurt City…”it’s damaging my mental health!”

Don’t know her. Don’t know her personal circumstances, as they seem to change rather frequently. Don’t know why on earth she thinks she can dictate to the club where she can go and who City will sell her to, or for what deal?!

As with the male players, it’s always “Bring us the deal that will allow us to let you go.” She didn’t, and she’s under contract, so she stays and picks up her wages every two weeks!

Last I checked, the location of North London doesn’t fit her stated location desires…or those of her beau…but that deal breaker seems to have faded away. Shocked! Shocked, I say!

Good luck to her and I hope she scores another Euros Final winner!

I don't really understand. She has a contract with the club, and she does not want to honor it. Fair enough, so she wants to leave. We always let unhappy players leave as long as they bring in a decent offer, not just the offer they want.
