Whilst I don't doubt Arsenal have their issues, they will still comfortably finish top 5, which means falling out of the trophy equation is just poor. The transfer market has been bizarre, almost made your own problems, nearly as bad as us. The league was wide open for the taking and you guys just haven't done enough. You're crying out for a striker and it's been ignored for 2 windows, I don't believe they genuinely thought that bid for Watkins would be accepted.

Well Arteta was visibly fuming in his first presser after the window shut. I'm beginning to suspect one of the reasons Edu left is exactly this.

Whilst we are still in the CL today is a clear example of why we will struggle as soon as we get an Atletico or an Inter. We'll no doubt power past a PSG or even a Barca - anyone that comes at us toe to toe but as soon as someone can defend properly and aggressively we don't have a scooby doo.

Re us being nailed on for top 4 - had we lost to City you'd have been 3 points behind us with a much less taxing run-in vs the games you've already played. You're more confident than I am about top 4 for Arsenal!

On the plus side this season we've seen 2 absolute gems come through the academy.

Myles-Skelly will be found out. Nwaneri also a lot to prove. You'll be bigging up Dowman next. I remember how much Arsenal talked up Smith-Rowe. That little dumpling amounted to nothing. ditto Nketiah and Nelson.

Myles Lewis Skelly is actually a midfielder so LB isn't even his main position. Nwaneri will be immense, that's clear but he's 17 so won't hit his levels for a few years.

Dowman is too young to feature this season and is being hyped as the best ever English prospect at his age group - no pressure. He looks great in age group matches but obviously the real tests will happen in a couple of years.
 
Thought Newcastle were excellent last night and fully deserved it. One thing that really stood out was their aggression and workrate. I don’t think they particularly played better football than us in our loss at Arsenal on Sunday, but they did show what happens when you work incredibly hard without the ball and make life horrible for Arsenal.

It was everything we didn’t do in that last 30 minutes. We are as good as anyone still with the ball, but we need to get near that level of intensity that Newcastle showed last night.

Let's hope that they can carry on with it in the final rather than capitulate like they normally do when reaching a final

So obvious there’ll be a dodgy Salah penalty, Geordies will fight back to equalise and get everyone’s hope up only for some scouse **** like Jota to get an undeserved 88th minute winner.

Needless to say I won’t be wasting 90 minutes of my life watching that shit.

I did when the draw was made but not after the 1st leg. I didn't think Arsenal would turn the 0-2 around. However, I'm about confident the Dippers will overturn the 1-0.
