I wouldn't want to swap Pep, but my opinion of him has plummeted as a result of him continuing with his ultra-conservative approach (both line-ups and subs) in the face of what is now several months' worth of evidence.

It's very disappointing to see how he's failed to adapt to admittedly very difficult circumstances.

And on a specific point, Christ knows what Khus must have thought, seeing Rico go on ahead of him. Khus would have planted his head squarely through the ball and that third would never have materialised. I'd love to know the thinking behind the January transfers - clearly UCL didn't come into it.

If we bought well in January (and it's far too early to tell) and buy well next summer then next season might be an improvement. However I can see some poor attendances if we're in one of the Thursday Leagues and that might affect the mentality of the entire club.

What do you base that on? He may become an upgrade on Sterling but he's nowhere near peak Sterling this season.

Same but different. We played much better, when they equalised first, I feared they’d run away with it, but we then played really well, deserved to go ahead. This was different to other games this season.
And we didn’t sit back and invite pressure, we just made two mistakes and got punished.
Ake coming off was huge also.

Very true, but I'll take tourists ahead of empty seats. It would be a good opportunity to reduce prices significantly to get new fans or lapsed fans in the ground.

My head is clearing after the disappointment and I think Grealish and Akanji getting injured was a big blow that ultimately cost us. Foden was brilliant tbh but enforced changes against a formidable attack cost us dear I think.

Whatever we try at the moment is just a sticking plaster hiding the very serious injury that is our midfield and right back. Not sure pep can do anything about it without destroying the style of play that runs from the first team through all levels at the club. One bad season isn’t worth changing our football philosophy

He obviously hasn’t put up the numbers yet but he’s been here for 6 months in a team that’s imploded and looks mid table.

Stick him in the prime city teams and he would outperform Sterling in my view, looks way better technically.

The most frustrating part for me is that we've all witnessed Walker"s declining pace for almost two years and argued over where and when it started to emerge.

Meanwhile the club have done absolutely nothing

going back pre 115 certainly no excuse for not bringing in quality houshold name replacements as players departed, the 115 cropped up and im quite sure this has had something to do with signings, the writing was on the wall with KDB and Walker and they should have been sold off at the end of last season, Gundo should have never come back so there is 3 replacements that should have been dealt with in one end of season swoop in the transfer market, dont get me wrong because we have bought players Nunes etc but certainly not houshold name players and its now questionable if there good enough or not to make that push into the elite player bracket, im just hoping the recent Jan signings have a little more about them in playing ability than those purchased before them, if not we could find ourselves overstocked with average quality players on decent wages and contracts and this is what we mock about the rags but we could be falling into the same trap, end of season we will know exactly where we are with the charges and hopfully be able to get the big signings in, even with no charges the PL has done its duty in bringing us down because im quite sure we wouldnt be in this position now if they had not come along

That was rubbish. I hated Pep's line-up. I would rather we had gone for it with Khusanov at right back and Doku and Savinho on the wings. Take KDB out of the starting line-up. He never ever shows up in the big matches any more.

But I think Pep was scared what would happen to City if we opened up. We do have a very exciting forward line but the midfield and defence is weak.

Pep is to blame for bringing back Gundogan and for playing KDB no matter what. However, he is still the best coach we will ever have. I just want him to drop the older players and to take more risk.

The job now is to integrate Marmoush into the City side because he has done nothing yet. We know he's a top class player.

I am massively grateful to KDB and Gundo, for instance, but they seem like charity cases now. KDB has been my favourite player for years, but he's had his day - certainly at the level City consider themselves to be.

They don't need to make actual mistakes to affect the dynamic of the match. The extra yard or so that they give opponents to thread a ball through can be just as damaging as Kova/Rico's aberrations for the third.

Next season? This could be the new level, back fighting it out for European places.

Anything is possible I suppose.

On tonight, pep went with the tried and tested, old guard who have delivered so many special moments. It like many games nearly worked until the wheels came off. Time we started to trust some of the new players to step up.

Look at the dips, arse and rags. They deemed themselves untouchable.

It does make you wonder. The good times tho, were very good.

Hopefully we see some younger, fresher players for Newcastle.

You were once a tourist. Do you expect them to be all English, and Manc and 50 years old? No they are going to speak foreign languages and use mobile phones because this is young people in Manchester. If you make supporting City fun, they will copy what you.

I don't see it changing until Rodri comes back.

Realistically, new players take months to settle in. Marmoush for example was the best player in the Bundesliga and he has not done anything for us, so I can't see Khusanov or Gonzalez making a huge difference.

But I would like Pep to stop playing KDB, Gundogan and the old players, and try the new players. I would especially like him to maximise Marmoush. I do not want to see KDB trotting around always late. He was a fantastic player once but not any more. The longer we persist in playing him, the longer it will take for City to recover.
