I loved the banner but it has done us no favours.

Actions speak louder than words and the decision of Real Madrid to boycott the Awards night said everything about the club, for me we should have left it there.

Do you actually realise what it was about? It's fuck-all to do with mocking Real Madrid's not insignificant trophy haul and everything to do with mocking their utterly pathetic dummy-spitting when boycotting the Balon D'or ceremony. Even if they'd won 500 European Cups to our 1 and beaten us 10-0 the other night, that doesn't negate the fact that they're a bunch of slapped arse wankers. Seriously, some our fans are complete and utter mard twats with their "Oh, please don't go upsetting Real Madrid" comments. If you've got that much of a hard-on for Real Madrid then go and fucking support them.

By the way, we already have a "Can We Talk About Rodri" banner. Oh, and Rodri himself clearly liked the banner the other night so are you going to have a pop at him as well?

And you clearly don't understand my point, I haven't got a hard on for Madrid, I couldn't give a fuck about them which is why I'm asking why have we created a banner about them and their players instead of focussing on us when we're going through such a shit patch.

If City had won, don't think the banner would have been discussed half as much.
There have been far more vicious and vindictive banners.
Noticed that Ronan's article about the banner, in today's Guardian, did not mention anything about MUFC and their ongoing, officially endorsed reminder at Old Trafford, about their local rival's dearth of trophies...

I was born in 1986 and taken to my first City game in 1990. I was in a school full of plastic reds. The only, only thing I had going for being a blue for my entire time at school was that the coolest and biggest band in the world were proud blues too. Shouldn't really be surprising that a generation of fans are fond of that connection.

I'm not surprised by the City hating football media. They were always going to condemn it, as it was against Junior and there beloved Real Madrid.
