"And if a ten ton truck crashes into us to die by your side well the pleasure the privilege is mine" was written about a Richard Dunne shoulder bargeJohnny Marr is very definitely a City supporter.

I loved the banner but it has done us no favours. The banner wasn’t necessary. It made us look small time and shows they got under our skin.
Best plan would have been to rise above and ignore them.
IMO
Do you actually realise what it was about? It's fuck-all to do with mocking Real Madrid's not insignificant trophy haul and everything to do with mocking their utterly pathetic dummy-spitting when boycotting the Balon D'or ceremony. Even if they'd won 500 European Cups to our 1 and beaten us 10-0 the other night, that doesn't negate the fact that they're a bunch of slapped arse wankers. Seriously, some our fans are complete and utter mard twats with their "Oh, please don't go upsetting Real Madrid" comments. If you've got that much of a hard-on for Real Madrid then go and fucking support them.I don't have an issue with their banners although the Muppets one was, in my opinion "tinpot". I suppose my issue with this banner was the wording of "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" which I found to be arrogant. We've won one European Cup and Rodri is the first player to win the Balon D'or. Instead of antagonising Madrid who are the most successful European team, why don't just focus on ourselves, especially when we've been absolutely wank this season by Pep's high standards.
Do a banner of Rodri kissing the Balon D'or by all means, perhaps using the wording "Can We Talk About Rodri" instead?
At what other time should it have been paraded..Although it was hilarious the timing was poor.
You're missing the point. The banner had zero effect on anything in the game.Take the piss out of the man of the match who on another day could have scored a hat trick? Who gives a fuck whether they turned up to the awards or not? Since when did we start giving a shit about the Balon D'or, it's organised by one of the most corrupt organisations in world sport.
Let's focus on us eh? Not those twats
Hahaha "utter mard twats" and you're one of the many people cryarsing about Madrid not attending an awards ceremony organised by a fucking magazine. Do me fucking favour. And you clearly don't understand my point, I haven't got a hard on for Madrid, I couldn't give a fuck about them which is why I'm asking why have we created a banner about them and their players instead of focussing on us when we're going through such a shit patch.Do you actually realise what it was about? By the way, we already have a "Can We Talk About Rodri" banner. Oh, and Rodri himself clearly liked the banner the other night so are you going to have a pop at him as well?
I'm not missing the point, that's exactly the fucking point. Crying about Madrid not attending an awards ceremony, since when did we become the fucking scousers? Full of our own self importance? 43 pages of tears. Fuck meYou're missing the point. The banner had zero effect on anything in the game.
Vini Jr. can't have been man of the match ?Unfortunately, it just fired him up for a man of the match performance, probably taught us a lesson in humility
I was born in 1986 and taken to my first City game in 1990. I was in a school full of plastic reds. The only, only thing I had going for being a blue for my entire time at school was that the coolest and biggest band in the world were proud blues too. Shouldn't really be surprising that a generation of fans are fond of that connection.I'm not a huge fan either. Much preferred Pulp, Blur, Suede, Gene back then. And The Fall, Inspiral Carpets and Stone Roses are/were Manchester area bands who make far more interesting music, in my opinion. But I think it's obvious why Oasis fit the bill: Passionate City fans who make huge sing - along pop/rock anthems, with topics such as cigarettes and alcohol. Subtle as a sledgehammer but ideal for fans to belt out at matches.
Not sure that 'Animal Nitrate' or 'Eat Y'self Fitter' would translate as well to the terraces
That's funny because last time I looked it was organised by France Football magazine.Hahaha "utter mard twats" and you're one of the many people cryarsing about Madrid not attending an awards ceremony organised by one of the most corrupt organisations in world sport. 43 pages discussing a fucking banner. Fuck me
I'm surprised by some of our fans and some posters on here.I can't believe the outrage of many of our own fans and the media in general after the banner. I personally, loved it, and it let the mardarses of Madrid know what we thought about them disrespecting Rodri and our club.

And somewhat ironically, the only reason it's gotten to 43 pages is because of cunts like you
You seem more upset and emotional about this than anyone in the preceding 43 pages.I'm not missing the point, that's exactly the fucking point. Crying about Madrid not attending an awards ceremony, since when did we become the fucking scousers? Full of our own self importance? 43 pages of tears. Fuck me
The only one who seems to be crying is you. In fact, I don't know where the fuck you've popped up from because it's the first time I've ever seen your username on a thread. There's definitely a fucking whiff about you. I might have to rifle through your post history to see what other shite you've been spouting.I'm not missing the point, that's exactly the fucking point. Crying about Madrid not attending an awards ceremony, since when did we become the fucking scousers? Full of our own self importance? 43 pages of tears. Fuck me
