President Trump

Hmmm, Trump angry at Taiwan and wants the business back, even though he knows that’s impossible.

Who does that give a green light to?

Hegseth tells the world American military might can’t stare down the Russian Navy as Ukraine is told it has to cede plans for peace, and Putin pays no price. Meanwhile, Trump gets pissy with Taiwan.

In the space of 3 weeks…

- Trump has told the Palestinians (and Arab neighbors) that he is going to OWN (his word) the Gaza Strip and turn it into a RIVIERA (his word, again),

- His new SecDef has told Ukraine that their history began post-2014, snd

- Trump has decided he’s now mad at Taiwan, a highly sensitive island nation off the coast of China, which One China says they own and will one day invade to ensure the world knows it.

Meanwhile, Trump says he wants to meet Putin and Xi in Saudi Arabia to talk about peace breaking out, everyone making trillions by ratcheting down military spending and mothballing nukes, and saying the U.S. wants to cut defence spending by 50% (or $500Bn per year, which just happens to be the size of his proposed millionaires & billionaires & Corporatist Tax Cuts!).

Coincidence?

He loves an authoritarian, doesn't he?

I can't help but think of the orange intellectual pygmy standing next to Putin and Xi and staring up at them in adulation and awe.

He definitely doesn't understand the silicon chip market. Samsung make chips for Samsung. Intel make them for Intel. TMSC (Taiwan) make them for anyone.

Guess why they make more than anyone else?!

Same Saudis who want to spend 600bn in US. Who caused 9/11. Who Squeaky Jared has been dealing with. Whole thing fucking stinks. Don’t we (UK) sell arms to SA? Maybe they will get a new supplier.
And now we start to see the big picture…

The world is awash with TRILLIONS of dollars, which means that the billions that slip between the cushions will not only never be missed, but will keep the players happy while the game is played.

What game? Reinventing the World Order, who owns what, who pays what to whom and why, and resetting the “Might makes right, so send your money here” dynamic that gives Donald a little chubby as he eats his late night McDonalds Happy Meal.

There will be 3 major powers, with a few secondary powers who want a seat at the table, or at least not to be ignored. Modi is in America now to make certain he stays in the second group and his aspirations to join the top table are not completely off the table!

Figuratively, maybe, but literally he looks down on both of them. He thinks he’s smarter, stronger, and has a country that is not only better but richer.

In reality, he just wants to have a fraction of Vlad’s wealth, although for the life of me I don’t know why, because he’ll never live to enjoy it! Maybe it’s all just a JP Morgan impression and he wants the kind of generational wealth that keeps the Trump name in lights.

Regardless, it’s both sad and pathetic, but we are all going to have to live with it for awhile.

Thing is XI and Putin are utterly ruthless. Trump is surrounded by incompetent arselickers and is a puppet for real Billionaires. Putin doesn’t hawk gaudy trainers to raise cash. XI wouldn’t end up in court. India are on the rise. If it wasn’t for Americas nuclear arsenal they’d be weak. Even Vietnam kicked their arse.

Are you sure we would crush them....? who is this we you speak of? I believe that NATO and the Donald Trump led US might well give them a bloody nose, NATO without the US possibly, but that would mean very very bloody noses on both sides.
In case you haven’t kept up Russia is on its arse it has no armour to speak of, Poland alone would give them a bloody nose out in the the other 30 countries it would be a massacre without the USA, with them it would be over within weeks.

Thing is XI and Putin are utterly ruthless.

Granted.

Trump is surrounded by incompetent arselickers and is a puppet for real Billionaires.

Agreed.

Putin doesn’t hawk gaudy trainers to raise cash.

He doesn’t need to.

XI wouldn’t end up in court.

Neither will Trump ever again.

India are on the rise.

Hence the trip and Tim Apple genuflecting.

If it wasn’t for Americas nuclear arsenal they’d be weak.

That goes a step too far.

Even Vietnam kicked their arse.

And that ignores both geography and the political climate of the day. That said, guerrilla warfare is to be avoided at almost all cost.

No different to ourselves with our various military outposts really, albeit we are a century away from our empire and the US are probably just starting their journey in that direction. We worry a lot about article 5, but in his usual hamfisted way Trump is trying to draw the attention of Europe back to article 3 which is fair enough.
Ye but we aren’t telling other countries what to do with their own property, that would be like trump telling us to give back the Falklands because he wants to do a deal with them, utter ****.

Have you seen the state of the Russian military capability today, not what propaganda you may have read?

Reagan actually did want us to give back the Falklands- about the only thing him and thatcher didn't see eye to eye on. As far as partitioning other countries and doling the bits out how we see fit goes we have plenty of form I'm afraid. I'm not trying to justify imperial hubris or say Trump isn't a **** etc, just making tge point that if he does come to some cosy arrangement with putin and leave zelinsky holding his cock in a cold wind it's hardly new or unique.

What’s new and unique is that it’s what Trump actually wants to happen rather than the US being forced into a corner (for any number of reasons including their own hubris) and having to accept something they don’t want.

Thats a ridiculous comparison, the age of empires is (or was) over. To shaft an ally in favour of a traditional "enemy" is a disgusting act by modern day standards

REPORTER: So just to be clear—you think values don’t matter in war?

HEGSETH: Look, values are great, but you can’t exactly fight off the left with values.

Who exactly is the USA's enemy?
Surely values are what you defeat your enemy with. It’s what his Jebus preached.

Placing Russia alongside China and the US as a global power is akin to saying United have shared all the big trophies with City and Liverpool over the last decade.

and they are very happy to have him think that!
So much easier to exploit - it's so well known that you just need to throw him a mouldy old bone wrapped in dollar bills.

Reagan actually did want us to give back the Falklands- about the only thing him and thatcher didn't see eye to eye on.
They also disagreed on Grenada and the ultimate desirability of multilateral nuclear disarmament (Reagan was in favour, Thatcher thought nuclear weapons were perpetually necessary).

Trump is clearly a bit nuts and his delivery lacks tact to say the least. It does seem though that a lot of folk are so triggered by his very existence that if him and Musk came up with a cure for cancer they'd want it banned.
You wouldn’t need to ban it, they’d make sure it cost $100M, because they’re on the side of the Ordinary Joe…….

War causes bloody noses, but ignoring the threat is worse.

If, in 2025, the NATO Alliance could not TROUNCE the Russian Army, Air Force and Navy, after a 3 year stalemate against a country that’s had to beg, borrow and steal to wage war against Putin, then they need an industrial sized pack of Fanny Wipes for the next meeting in Brussels!
With or without the US? Genuine question.
