Bruno Guimaraes

Says it all based on current Gundog
Edit: Actually that's unfair, Gundog was MUCH better with Nico in there. So the system might actually still work with the right personally
Gonzalez could galvanise us this season.

Marmoush will get the headlines, but Gonzalez had the far more important role in stabilising our whole system.

Little strange how many think he is shit based on thia game.

Our style of play dismantled the entirety of newcastle, it wasnt Brunos fault.

Imagine him playing next to Nico or Rodri in the future, he is still one of the best possible signings we can make for the future 8/6 position.
He is a good player. The issue with him is he isn’t worth the 100 million release clause. More of 70 75 mil player.

Sure, and I agree.

Im more of the mind tho... who is a better option as that 8/6 hybrid?

Can we get someone who is maybe like 90-95% as good but way way cheaper? Id be okay with that.

Im not aware of many profiles that are realistically good enough that we can get a good deal on.

I think the impact Nico had today shows that there are a number of excellent players out there that aren't necessarily known to the majority of fans.

Thats more exciting too.

Not many people on here were even saying Nico G when transfer discussions were happening.

Would love another random signing like that.

I've still not seen anything from him to make me think he was the right player for us. I'm glad this signing didn't happen.
Agreed. Lacks real athleticism and good at many things but not great imo.

I thought he was awful yesterday. Tonali is the much better player imo

None of the signings we made in the window had generated much traction on here. Long may it continue.
That’s the beauty of our business as we never go for the hr traditional names and I would imagine even though we are matched with wirtz there will be someone out there who we don’t even know about .

I guess that when we go after elite players, then sometimes we will inevitably go for the traditional/obvious, Haaland and Gvardiol, but I think that the experiences of buying Phillips and then Nunes, maybe even Grealish, should make the club wary about buying from within England and paying so royally for the privilege.

Wirtz is an exceptional talent, to be sure, but, should our advances be spurned, I’m hoping Viana has already identified alternatives.

Could not agree more. The bang for the buck we get in bundesliga is far superior. I cannot think of bad signing we kade there since Eike Immel. Average overpriced PL players we have signed a bucketload.

We have only really signed one superstar ( Haaland)otherwise more up and coming young players have been our strategy.
