City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

So the PL can quite openly, legitimately and lawfully subject one club's finances to incredibly detailed levels of scrutiny far in excess of what they routinely do for other clubs and use "evidence" against that club obtained illegally... all without them being seen to be acting in a prejudicial and discriminatory manner?
Without it being actionable is closer to the mark. They will get their comeuppance another way.

Yes, I understand the consequences.

I just don't see why City would be interested in that.

But I can see why the PL would want to apply all the new rules retrospectively to 2021 whilst having the transition rules for shareholder loans, and why City would want to stop that because it opens up Etihad to assessment again under the new rules?

All speculation, of course, but Occam's razor and all that.
I don’t see why Etihad would be waved through. Unless City decided to sign it after the initial decision and before the New APT Rules. I also don’t think this means every historic APT is automatically approved. But obviously guessing.

think there are three departments that look into it
one with 30 professional staff that deals with us
one with 7 professional staff that deals with 15 clubs
one with 1 staff (seconded from the marketing team who WFH only 3 days a week) for 4 clubs
Is that kosher or a guess?

This isn't a win or lose situation. It's a realisation of the actual situation we're in & the effect it's having on City & our fans.

I ask the question "If what we're being accused of is so serious in UK Law, where are the authorities"?

Right on cue, the following just landed in my news feed...

And then to add to the media hyperbole, they ran the following poll...

This is why we're being looked at as common criminals, which is why I refer you to my question. An anti-City industry has sprung up, & instead of even crediting this bollocks with considered statements, we the fans need to boil it down to the basics, keep it simple & force the media to answer these questions.

On top of this the "experts" have also discussed:

Titles being stripped

Clubs suing City

The Football League not being duty bound to admit us if relegated, so we could effectively end as a Football Club.

This whole FFP & APT nonsense is beyond the ridiculous. Is it any wonder that those who can't digest the minutiae of these allegations are shitting themselves because the media would have all believe that the very existence of our club is at risk?

I don't believe we need to be discussing these hyped up points which only emboldens our detractors. Let's strip it down to its basics to show the utter folly of the PL's witch hunt against us.
Nobody knows what kind of punishment we would get if we're found guilty—100 points or relegation are just opinions based on your tendency for drama. It's also possible that the Premier League doesn't want to punish us too harshly because it would be bad for business—I can only imagine what it would mean for sponsorships and TV deals.

The Post Office is unique in that it can investigate and criminally prosecute on its own. It doesn't require a Police investigation and CPS approval for prosecution
The Police will openly investigate the whole process of the Post Office's investigations and also its executives, investigators, witnesses and Fujitsu executives and witnesses
The Police had no involvement in the investigation and prosecution of SPM's

In regards to City, the Police/SFO will more than likely be keeping an eye on what's going on, but nothing has yet been proven
As I asked in my earlier post, how many times was "no evidence" quoted in the CAS conclusions?
Why would the Police open an investigation when no one actually knows if a crime has taken place and an independent body is looking at it anyway?
I think the RSPCA used to have the same powers but gave them up (or put them into abeyance) due to huge criticism as to how they were used.

I have no evidence of this but I think the players have been unhappy with our tactics hitherto and the changes we have now made have been well received by them. Pure speculation but it makes sense.
Sad really that you have to start the post with “I have no evidence of this”. It’s a forum for opinions. If you were only allowed to post facts it would be a reference library. I hadn’t thought about that but it makes sense.

the answer is simple, the police et al don't have the evidence to prove a crime beyond doubt in a criminal court. No investigation is taking place because of that. A tribunal with a balance of probabilities is a different ball game and it's this that we are facing.
I’ve told him this but he can’t listen.

Reckon other clubs don't like the contacts we have around the world and how we find it "easier" than other clubs to get sponsors! It's why they want to make the Etihad sponsor related because how we can renew it update it for achievements! Maybe totally wrong but you look at other clubs finding it hard to get a decent sponsor..

Just so we're clear, I've never questioned Stefan's abilities, only his approach which doesn't quite sit right with me.

That fundamental question is what I'd be asking the Jim White's & Simon Jordon's of this world, so we cut to the chase & get to the heart of the matter.

Imagine the confusion & concern caused when City's legal counsel issue an official statement & trusted others call those statements into question?

It not only emboldens our enemies, it terrifies our fans.
You questioned his integrity.

So this goes to the very heart of what I'm saying!

Where is the:

"Police investigating crimes linked to the Manchester City fraud, money laundering & tax evasion accusations are looking at "dozens" of potential suspects, but don't expect trials to begin until 2027."

This is my exact point. The police are conducting parallel investigations. Why haven't the media (who've a lot to say about this) ever said they've asked the authorities about City? Has anyone from City ever been interviewed about these serious allegations, with the apparent truck loads of evidence against us?
Source?

What makes me laugh is no one seems to pick up that if inflated sponsorships were not governed before APT then why didn’t City do it then? Also spouting about the team’s with the most resources benefitting….how’s that working out for the Rags?
If City win it’s the end of football, apparently. They keep quiet on your sensible question so as to preserve the headlines.

You questioned his integrity.
His approach toward City yes, & I stand by it as something doesn't quite sit right with me.

As for his professional difference of opinions with our legal team? Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone's got one. City are entitled to theirs, as he is his.

Like all City fans, I just want an end to this bollocks so we can get back to the football. It's just in my experience with opposition fans, you quickly get into a "He said, she said" scenario which never moves the needle.

However, for the last two years since I started any FFP discussion with "Where are the authorities"? I find opposition fans soon fold, as they can't answer that question either, other than with silly quips like "You paid them off with wads full of oil money stuffed into brown envelopes".
