City football shirts everywhere

Was on holiday in Phuket in January and got talking to a guy in the lift of my hotel. He was from Uzbekistan and when he found out I was City he thanked me for signing Khushanov. He was proud they had a player in the Premier league. A couple of days later saw 3 lads in City shirts all with Khushanov on the back. Think we'll see plenty of Uzbecks at Anfield next season ; )

I've lived in western Japan for most of the last 25 years. I've never seen the streets swarming with the red tops some back home would have you believe. Yep, the odd one here and there, but nothing more. Maybe because of me, in my university classes, last year, I can recall 3 students wearing football shirts. 2 were wearing City shirts, and one, wait for it, a Tottenham top! And it's the same on campus. All I can remember from last year is a Japanese babe on a bike wearing a Haaland City top. No Barcelona, no Real Madrid, no Bayern Munich, no Milan ....

City support is definitely growing in Japan , that's for sure ..... you only had to look at the crowds in the stadiums when we toured there pre season either this season, or last, and so many japanese fans, all around the stadiums used, had City shirts on.

And it was the same story in China and South Korea too.

Was the the City vs Milan pre-season match in NY during the summer. Now I know it's a City match but there were literally thousands of City shirts on display. Easily outnumbered the Milan shirts and there are a lot of Italians in NY. Load and loads of Haaland shirts too, especially on the kids.
Yep, the large increase in US based City fans was definitely noticeable during our pre-season friendlies over there .....

My son goes to school in North London in a big Spurs/Arsenal atea and there’s plenty of City fans. The majority of kids I see have Foden on the back of their shirts. I ask him who the most annoying fans are and he says Liverpool by a mile

I work in Primary schools all over South Yorkshire (Sheffield) East Midlands and here in Norfolk.

Y5/6 kids support either City or Liverpool its almost a 45/45 split, with the odd Spurs/Ars/Chels ... hardly any United fans these days, bar the odd Teacher.

(In Sheffield they follow Owls/Blades too of course, but more often than not say it as if they're their 2nd team)

Was in The Maldives in 2018 and did a day trip to the main island where the airport is - Male - and went to a ' typical ' Maldivan village some way away from the main city.......................it was quite poor and totally different to the exotic islands and resorts that is potrayed as in the brochures, adverts, etc............only saw 1 football shirt which was a City shirt being worn by a young lad; maybe 8 years old.............
